View Full Version : Mages' Shots should be able to be blocked

In the dungeon maps, there are mages who shoot yellow spikes and its annoying and easy to die if you cant block them. You can block people's bullets in deathmatches and such but the yellow spikes are somewhat related to bullets too so why shouldnt they be able to be blocked? Even the fireball cant be blocked. I think they should change something so we can block it.

This should be moved to the Quest Section of the forum.
The mage's attacks don't take up major damage unless they're grouped up. It wouldn't make sence if you could block it, it's magic.

Don't use a sword for quest, use a dagger or maybe kodachi but not sword. Fancy crap with sword will not confuse these monsters.

And what if you run out of ammo? Dagger is sjit damage. Kodachi is not recommended in any way.
Sword isnt there to confuse people or monsters, its there to do glitches known as kstyle. This increases your move speed and melee attack.
So dont say stupid things.

Nah, it would be WAY easier, and you would not need to evade so much, which is part of the fun... :wink:
Still, something interesting to discuss about.
Rated as 4 - Good.
Dagger all they way. I'm a k-styler, but for quests, daggers are the way to go. Lots of dashing, and you can attack while dashing. Helps you evade the attacks. Plus, you can still wall-cancel with a dagger, so you're not giving up ALL of your k-style tactics. One more thing. Dagger is light weight. So, combine that with some prem armor (yes, I am a prem user XD XD) and you can carry any set of weapons you want!!!

i agree with u but maybe the mage's atk can be reduced by half if blocked
i still think it shouldn't be blocked though

I dont understand why you even need to block it... yellow spikes are very easily dodged: they travel slow, unlike bullets (rocket speed id say); dont do a lot of damage; no spash damage; travel in straight lines, etc. What really pisses me off is the fireballs. not only are they impossible to stop, but in the middle of the battle your only option is to run away as fast as possible. But what if there is nowhere to run (small maps). Then you have to let them drain you hp (not ap) and there is almost nothing you can do about it... :(

And the fireball/stick thing is really annoying. In stage 4 of lvl 2 dungeon you often roll into a corner tryin to dodge them and the big guys come and gang bang u.:ranting:

If you have those fireballs after you, just get behind a wall fast or pillar and they will hit that instead of you.

I've used daggers in quest, they're pretty much evenly matched with swords if you can dstyle and kstyle. With the daggers, you can zoom around the map faster than a sword, but the sword has SS which is great with Revs and shotguns. When you get to the higher levels though, I'd recommend only revs,rifles, or MGs.

all u have to do is jump and dash around with dagger, and dodge them. very easy. then rape the mages from behind with dagger, and run back and shoot them with lvl 45 mg.

I agree. Another thing that needs to be fixed about mages is when they are about to cast a spell and you kill them. They cast it anyway? :lolz:

and the biggest issue that i have found with quest, this makes me sooo frusterated....
is that those darn fast huge orange guys can swipe you even after they die, or after u move out of the way!

Go around a corner and they will run into the wall and evaporate...
It'd be great if you could block just the yellow shots, fire is easy enough to avoid.

How to kill invisble NPC: bf around where you were killing NPC's if your score under tab does not match your onscreen score. It is not an invisible NPC in thesense that it still moves around, it is very stationary and can't hit you back.
