My wireless problem is basically a consistent lag-out roughly 5 minutes after starting Gunz.
Every time.
There is slightly more lag compared to using a cable, but I should still be able to play. (I've tried using cables and it works fine, but wireless SHOULD BE much more convenient....apparently not)
When that ~5 minutes is up though, everyone goes to 999 ping, and I get disconnected.
(I CAN play quest though >_>)
After that, I have NO INTERNET (pulling out the adaptor and putting it back doesn't work) at all.
Until I reboot.
If there's anything you guys can tell me from just this, please do.
If it has something to do with my brand of router, adaptor, distance, port-forwarding (dunno what this is, just heard people talking about it), etc., I'll try to look those up. (I do know my router is linksys and that my adaptor is some asian company's model)

Cable's are actually more efficient because it's a direct connection with the network...

Quest might be easier for the computer to manage because a lot of people spike so the computer has a hard time keeping up.

I don't know anything about a router.. what do you have?

What type of linksys

it might be the modem you have, teh packets it can process, to little there will be lag, so in other words, the more the better. i had a router which could carry a decent amount of packets so no problems for me.

Don't ever use wireless and play an online game, it's just horrible (past experiences). Try buying an ethernet plug and plug it in the wireless modem, I'm sure life will be less laggy for you.

well yeah, I know using cables is less laggy
it's just that I can't connect my comp to the router right now (too far away)
and I know people who can play fine on wireless
I can't play AT ALL on wireless, and that's the problem :/

Well there might be some extension cables you could buy, but that would further decrease the efficiency. If the router is on the other side of the house, or up a floor or two, then you might not be able to connect it to your router. (Unless you hire some professional and drill some holes in the walls T_T)

It could also be the range limit. If your router model is not designed for long range signaling, and your wireless adaptor is bad at picking them up (or vice versa), then you might have a faulty connection.

I guess you can look for a technician or someone that can identify the problem for you. Or, it may just be your adaptor / router. If your neighbours have open internet sources, try accessing it to see if the connection lasts longer on there. I have a friend who's wireless adaptor works better on the neighbour's receiver than on his own. :-D If the results appear better for your neighbours, you can go ask them what model they have, and maybe get one for yourself. Hope it helps. Ijji forums don't really have a lot of people that can answer technical questions, so better luck going to other forums. Good luck.
