What if people Counter Steer when they drift? They should deserve a combo for their 1337 skills. I think this is a easy system to implement into the game and it makes the game more real. That is 2 birds with one stone.

GMs you got to read this.

Interesting...
I saw an awesome counter drift on initial D, where takumi drifted a left corner then a right corner in one motion.

That's a different thing. NeoShinobi's referring to an inefficient drifting technique in DC that a lot of high level drivers get into the bad habit of using.

Can anyone counter steer?

I do it all the time, I find it very effective for cornering on blind corners, as it gives me a little extra reaction time, and it barely slows me down, I often exit drifts at 210mph+ using this technique, where my usual top speed is only 203

It's hard to do a good drift and counter it because then you're drifting in a straight line. -Against lows of physics. If in the remote chance you do get to do a counter drift its a very wide turn.

Is that towards the beginning, where he first beats Keisuke on Akina? That's actually an inertia drift, taking the sideways motion of the first drift to slide through the second.

I don't think this could be a combo, since it is very inefficient to do it for more than a second when dodging traffic coming out of a blind corner. It slows you down drastically if you do it for more than 1-2 seconds, down to 40mps or so if you continue.

I wish they could just increase the boost bar for pressing more then use one arrow key.

Yup. Counter steer is quite easy on the streets. It helps you fixes your drifting. It's much harder on the mountain. I only use counter steer when I know that my drift is too early and uses it to help me take out that hitting the wall situation.

i counter steer all the time :P when i first started using it id use it on like every turn and always rim into the walls >.< but now ive gotten better with it and it helps a lot :P and giving boost for drafting would be awesome :D
