8 Questions to ask Before Switching to GunZ Revolution

When was the last time GzF held any tournament?
When was the last time GzF held any competition?
When was the last time that the staff treated you with equal respect?
When was the last time Citizen actually spoke with you people as fellow members?
When was the last time when your suggestions could change the entire site?
When was the last time a few threads went unflamed on GzF?

Let me tell you something right now; GzR is not a hack site, nor is it a private server site. It's a GunZ Fansite, and I can tell you right now why it's imperative you join and support the Revolution.

GunZ Factor needs to die; let's face it. The staff are corrupted, the administrators don't care, and there are 12 year olds that think they're cool. I am tired of the fact that I've had to deal with all their crap for years simply because they were the only GunZ Fansite in existance.

Today I can safely say they are not a GunZ Fansite, because quite frankly, what does a Fansite require? Articles, competitions, intelligent community, and a supporting userbase. Fansites are used to further promote the product they are a fan of. Do you honestly want a new potential GunZ player to hop onto GzF and read a thread? What will they find? "EZ PZ, 20-0 MOAR NOOB!"

Honestly, step away from that. The reason I made GzR in the first place was not in order to take away their userbase. God knows I can't do that, there are too many idiots there that I frankly don't want. It was to give a better representation of GunZ, to help the game I've loved for so long grow. If GunZ Factor continues to "represent" GunZ, I guarantee you the game will die. Every week the number of GunZ players are going down several tens. No, it's not because the game is getting boring. Well partially, it is. Who's to blame? Ijji of course!

Therefore it is the duty of the GunZ Fansite in order to keep the userbase alive. Has GunZ Factor done that? In 3 years, the only thing major GunZ Factor has done is I'll safely say.what is there to say? Added a videos section to the forums? A downloads section? Provided decent support?

Hello!? GunZ Revolution's been doing all that in a matter of 2 months; we've replicated the success of GunZ Factor which took 3 years to 2 months.

Your opinions, your posts, but most of all, your registration, can be the difference in letting the spam filled hate forum GunZ Factor represent GunZ or let GunZ Revolution be the forum people turn to for a mature community.

This isn't a plea for members; frankly I could care less if you think this site sucks, if the members are scrubs, or if you wanna come hump me. But think about this; a year or two down the line, you'll get bored of this game. Do you really want the only good things of GunZ to be those flame wars and ego posts on GunZ and GunZ Factor?

The decision is up to you, but this is just a clarification for the ************************s that think this is a private server.

Get your head out of your ************; it isn't. I don't know how much simpler it can get then reading the words on the GunZ Revolution main page: does anyone see any references to private servers whatsoever?

Not really. We're the ONLY GunZ Fansite in existance. GunZ ************tor isn't a fansite, it's an ego site. A launcher is NOT a hack. It doesn't matter if it can access servers during downtime - it's not a hack. It doesn't modify the game in any way.

Why do I care why the staff are corrupt? Because unlike some people I actually have the balls to do something about problems.

User-run and fansite run. Big difference. Fansite run ensures quality. I've seen over 100 "Tournament and Ladder" threads on GzF, not many have pulled through.

your so picky everythings a mystery to you so far in this thread,but fine ill explain.If you simply look around the forum you see that 4/5 is about problems,and if you look around hard enough you see no gm has been around for months,if your a programer like me,you woudent let this prolonged amount of hackers,noobs and unfairness go for to long,so whos side are you on? ill give you some options

Or would you filter your members, put them through some sort of test to find the "good" ones, or ban whoever you don't like? That's strategy and has nothing specifically to do with k-style. I didn't miss that, I just didn't think you were speaking so broadly. What defines k-style is the moves, not the way you use them. Regardless of all that though, you can't strategize for moves you don't have.

You view kStyle as a moveset in essence. That's fine - that's how I see it too.

But you also see kStylers as being bound to that same essence to the same extent - when kStyle and kStylers are two very different things.

kStyle is a moveset: that means that it provides the tools for play in the form of the 'moves' we know from Slash Shot to Reload Half Half Step. kStyle is defined by these moves, both within and outside the GunZ community, because if you don't have a sword and you're not playing GunZ then you're not going to be able to kStyle.

kStylers are also defined by these moves, because they play off them to a large extent. Nevertheless, kStylers are NOT set in stone, they are NOT moves you just pick out of a guidebook. They have brains and they use kStyle as their weapon in any way they see fit. Granted, creativity with kStyle is lacking nowadays, but look at replays of people like ShadowSkullz or Gosu and you'll see that it's definitely far from impossible.

kStyle is the weapon of kStylers - they are not one and the same. Yet when I talked about variety in players, you brought up kStyle and told me it's moves were useless outside of GunZ. Yes, Slash Shot is useless outside of GunZ, but I don't see how Slash Shot restricts someone's creativity unless there's an idiot behind the keyboard. kStyle is for most intents and purposes a weapon.

You used a weapon to justify your assumption that the person behind the weapon had to be limited by using that weapon. That does not make any sense, because if I gave you full capability to use the full extent of kStyle, with swords, shotguns, and an intimate knowledge of GunZ physics, you would still have a choice whether to use Butterfly defensively, evasively, or aggressively. You would have the choice to forgo butterfly completely and not learn it at all. You could put all focus into gun moves instead - maybe you'd be a chronic Half-Stepper. And what then? How would you develop further?

With Half Step you might want to go aerial and shoot off the walls in protracted air fights. Maybe you want to pop in and out of corners like a ninja. Maybe you want to spam it. My point is that kStyle doesn't restrict you if you can do it - it opens up possibilities.

Of course. You can't fly in Half-Life 2, and you can't lay on devastating melee combo attacks. But both games have similarities. Both games call on a player's capacity for quick thinking and clever responses. Therefore good players of both games share similarities in the common fields of excellence required by both games. And it's not just Half-Life. Memorizing a build order for Generals isn't that far from memorizing an instafall combo. SCV-dancing in Starcraft isn't miles away from Yoyo-hopping. But when everybody knows the rules, it all usually comes down to who's more imaginative, who can react dynamically, and basically who's faster in doing it. In Generals a player might use a well-timed carpet bomb to flush away a battle group of rocket humvees. In Starcraft players sometimes use weak resource-gatherers for early surprise attacks. In GunZ, while being pursued by three enemies, you can wait for them to walk past your hiding spot, put a single round into the guy at the rear and thus invite him to follow you to a place where you can pick him off. In Half-Life 2 you see an enemy using a car for cover, and you can slam the car into the idiot with your gravity gun. If you're a fast thinker in Half-Life you'll very probably be one in GunZ, Starcraft, Dota, Call of Duty, or otherwise.

My way of playing is to be unexpected and abuse lag. The last time I checked, those were viable tactics in HL2: DM. I don't rely wholly on my glitches; I use them to augment my play, not serve as it's foundations. Is my way of playing restricted? I doubt it.

I never said this, and your misinterpretation doesn't change that fact. You go on and on about strategy and I could argue with you there as well but I already have. You've just chosen to act as though I was saying something else all along. Looking back I see there was no need to call you pedantic for pointing out differences in k-style and k-stylers, since I didn't state the latter were the subject of my point. Maybe the fact that I used the term k-styler in my very first post was enough for you to jump to that conclusion.

To all the people who complain about getting flamed on GunZFactor: Guess what? You probably deserve it. In almost a year and a half, I have never been insulted on GZF outside of a single person (who now sings my praise whenever I post a new move). If you want to see flames, go check out the replies I get for any of the threads I've made in the Styles section of these "official" forums and you will find an abundance of ignorance.

I will never use GunZRevolution because they give no respect whatsoever to D-Stylers. I searched their forums, managed to find only one thread that was actually related to the Dagger and ascertained that the GZR staff themselves consider it to be insignificant. Even the "Introduction to Styles" section on their main page has a false and demeaning summary of D-Style that has yet to be changed despite the fact that I bring it up in almost every one of these threads.

GZR has the potential to become a very good fansite if you scrap your forum and focus more on the actual website. Citizen hasn't posted any news since November so people have to scour the forums to get any information about what's happening in the community. If you just constantly update your site with news about glitches, clans, rumors, upcoming premiums or client updates and write a few articles every now and then, your popularity would skyrocket. That will never happen though because you actually think you have a shot at replacing GunZFactor.
