During gameplay, if the user presses the alt-tab keys, the user's game crashes.

This issue is not a bug and will not be fixed. This "feature" was added to help combat against hackers.

I love and hate this, mainly because when I play I usually play until I'm too tired to know what I'm doing, and this feature is great because if I'm too tired I always alt tab after being killed, great way of the game letting you know it's time to bed. It can be a bit annoying though if you're just not paying attention. However it is a good way to just bugger off if the enemy team are hacking or glitching to the point where you have no chance at victory.

Since my resolution is high, when I'm not playing a game I can leave it in the lobby for a while and still be able to use my computer. But I can't do it in the middle of a game cause of course, it'll change the res so it fills the screen.

This function is very good as it does really prevents hackers, but can you please activate this function WHEN the game starts? Cause i find that users can just easily swap files during the selection of servers/channels :)

Anytime a forget to put up an away message, I get d/c'd from games when an AIM message pops up causing windows to switch and SF to close.
It's a nice prevention of cheat engines but I think it causes a little too much grief.

Edit: Plus I don't usually like games I can't window, because my computer typically has a hard time changing resolutions over and over.

Actually running in windowed mode isn't possible, thank god. Causing an alt+tab to disconnect is one of the best things they could have done to help prevent hackers.

Make sure anything that would do something like that is off then, trust me, it's far better that it be disabled. Just play a few games in GunZ and you'll probably see at least 1 person using a hack in the first few games you play, and those hacks are far far worse than the one you see in this, it's sad too because GunZ can be a damn fun game when there aren't any hackers around.

The worst cause for gunz hacks are the launcher. If gunz.exe was called directly through GameGuard, rather than gunzlauncher.exe, there wouldn't be time for those annoying dll injections.

Apparently the only way to make the game close for me is to press Ctrl Alt Del.
The Task manager pops up and closes the game.
I usually do it when I get glitched and I have to leave.

I liek it personally. I don't usually leave a game for any reason, but there have been two occasions I had been either so disappointed with the actions and speach my fellow gamers were taking that I left, or I was incredibly tired and getting owned by half a team of hackers and half a team of glitchers, so I left that one too, though normally I stay even if hackers or glitchers are present. That night however, I just didn't wanna deal with em. =P

Is this feature designed to stop hackers by not letting them start an executable file (a hacking program) while the is game running? I think it is as i've never seen an aimbot or other hacks similar that may require an external program.

Yup. To get around the GG check, they'd just start it up AFTER the GG scans the program.

thing is, its not really about gameguard, they would need to minimize or go into window mode to make the hacks in the first-place, and thats while the game is running. if you cant do that, you cant make the more annoying hacks. thus alot of hacks stopped in their tracks for a while.

Well, causing alt+tab to crash your game actually prevents alot of those hacks from being made in the first place, so theres nothing to just turn on anyway.

Lawl, it took me 10 times to realized that it disconnected me on purpose. XD I think it's great that you get dced when you alt-tab because as everyone knows, this makes it harder for hackers. They can only inject, replace files and other stuff. The good thing is that it will take them longer on how to figure out how to hack SF, while GM's already have a pwnage new anti-hacking system.

I have another crashing issue other than the alt-tab one... When playing SF I usually have a timer or calender function running, when a pop-up window appears to give me a warning it does not just minimize SF, it completley closes it, losing all progress in a game and increasing my user disconnect rate. I was wondering if this is another "feature" installed to provent hackers and glitchers from accessing IP changing programs and such ingame... or if its a problem that can be solved.

I have a question, yesterday while I'm on the lobby I accidentally pressed the Start menu button(Windows Logo) and it says I pressed Alt=Tab blah blah blah... then the game closes down. I checked my character's record/profile and it's Intended DC rate is still 0...
I wonder if this happens while I'm playing, will it be considered Intended DC? Because I hate having bullet holes in my rank.

yeah the same thing happend to me. the only thing is, my disconnection rate was 72%, but i was still able to play. the next time i played, it dropped down to 50%. but when it started loading up, it froze for 20 seconds,. then it lead me to the lobby saying press alt tab.
so in conclusion, it might not happen during your first game, but possibly your second game.

I think it's quite stupid. I get why it's there, but that doesn't stop people from hacking on the game. Like tomsss said, I can't talk to any of my friends on my chats. I alt tab a lot out of games to talk to friends on IM programs, and SF is one of my favorite games now which makes it even worse. It should seriously be taken out.

This is very annoying, I swear. In the past 2 hours I've been in over 10 games. Over half of them I did well, but either during or after I finished it said I touched Alt+Tab and I lost well over 2500 points. It seriously needs to be removed.

I never said it didn't prevent them, I know it does. But it doesn't stop them from spawn hacking. Over half of my games each day have a spawn hacker. And on top of that, there can be nothing done. You can either leave and take a penalty on your weapons, or stay and get little points. Only logical way to get rid of them is to implement a /kick feature, like GunZ. It would greatly decrease the amount of hackers in game, since it does work quite well on GunZ.

I don't see how this stops hackers. If this thing was removed I could be playing SF a lot more. I just leave the game whenever there's hackers. Sometimes I just get used to it. My gun is completely broken so I don't get a penalty for leaving. Besides, people take advantage of this so they don't get the penalty.

Rather odd. Sometimes when i get back to the squad screen (or whatever you call the one where everyone gathers for a game) after playing, i suddenly get sent back to the desktop for pressing alt-tab, even tho i'm not touching the keyboard.

I don't have anything assigned to alt. And it's under my palm so it's really hard to press by accident. It and the Windows key are the two hardest buttons to reach on the left half of my keyboard.

I play a lot of FPS games online and offline and i've never touched alt-tab by accident. Would seem rather strange that it would happen several times on my first day alone playing SF.

I don't have any messengers, and the only thing running in the background is internet explorer because of the launcher.

I've been finding this trend. I watched carefully and took note. I have never glitched or hacked in a game, but like everyone else, I've played in games with all kinds of hackers. The Alt-tab issue, for awhile was annoying me, because I never pressed it but after a game finished I'd get that message and then get the game crashing to the desktop.

I figured it out. Everytime a game ends and THEN the message appears and you get crashed to desktop, there was a hacker in your last match. Check it out. I've been tracking the games, and I've played in ones where some players glitched, but the game didn't crash. But every time I played in a game where someone was HACKING, after the game the whole thing crashed saying I pressed alt-tab.
I've watched it for awhile, and consistantly saw this effect. It's a good way to know if someone WAS hacking. I've had games where I THOUGHT someone was hacking then afterwards I knew for sure.

I don't know why this is like this, or if it's just like this on mine, but it's definately a bug. It's annoying too, because I suffer because of hackers, in-game, then out of game too.

If you get the Alt+Tab crash and you never touched Alt+Tab it's because you've still been chatting when the game ends, make sure you've finished typing before the game ends or you'll crash!

Alt Tab happens even when you are not hitting alt tab. At the end of the game, my hand is NO WHERE near alt or tab. I am just typing when the game ends and it closes. Not all alt tab problems are related to actually hitting alt tab.

WHENEVER i play finish a round it will bring me to the deskstop. i did not type anything or press enter or alt tab when i play finish a round. But If i had click repeatedly with my mouse after the game .. it will not bring me to the deskstop.. but if i leave the room or stay and play 1 more round..and after it load finish my game[before a new round][i did not even had a chance to see other people loading status] it will automatically bring me to the deskstop and say i press alt tab.I DIDN'T ! this happen to me since monday this week! help me please!

Alt Tab happens even when you are not hitting alt tab. At the end of the game, my hand is NO WHERE near alt or tab. I am just typing when the game ends and it closes. Not all alt tab problems are related to actually hitting alt tab.

uh yeah i dont press alt+tab in game but after a game is done like team battle or single and i win or lose doesnt matter the game exits with an error saying alt+tab has been pressed and i didnt even press it, i need help solving this problem, its random sometimes. please help thanks

lol, i tough it was natural for it to do this. I've been getting this crash since the day i downloaded and installed SF.

Its actually really anoying because when i finish a macth and i lose i usualy want revenge but after the fight i get crashed with the alt+ctrl+del thing and ,well, i dont get to avenge myself.


Also on a side note, they should make so you can alt+del SF since i always get these ramdom anti-virus pop-ups telling me to up-date again and it take ups like 23% of the screen and i cant click there or the game closes. it really pisses me and my friends off when im in the middle of cross fire and my game shuts down becuase of a stupid reason like that.

Anytime a forget to put up an away message, I get d/c'd from games when an AIM message pops up causing windows to switch and SF to close.
It's a nice prevention of cheat engines but I think it causes a little too much grief.

Edit: Plus I don't usually like games I can't window, because my computer typically has a hard time changing resolutions over and over.

To Stop the alt tab crashes when type after game is done keep it short send it before the rm page loads because if u didnt submit that message u will get an alt tab crash so simply put dont type at the end of the game

well, an easy way to "bypass" this is to just get a windowed mode, its easy to set up, and it wont crash. so its really not "combating" any hackers seing as not very many hacks are used as a uce*unditectable cheat engine* but in a injection(you get a .dll and inject it into SF before it loads) so it really is just causing greif over nothing.

But it doesn't really crash for me, but rather it makes my character and everything invisible, is there any way to fix this? My friend doesn't alt tab but uses the window's key but comes back fine. Well, causing alt+tab to crash your game actually prevents alot of those hacks from being made in the first place, so theres nothing to just turn on anyway.

GM sking one thing hackers need money and hard programs to make a hacks for a war game its easy on maplestory because 1 there all azn with no lifes 2 its a cartoon game basicly in SF we have graphics and sht in gunz its easyer cuz i dunno o.o
but in Sf Your making minimizeing crashing is annoying because i sometimes get itunes windows defender or just popups
and it makes me d/c >.>


You should give the ijji gcoin buyers the privledge of not having to d/c when minizing
