Battle Arena = Rome Coliseum place?

I was watching a movie called Gladiator and I noticed that the place known as "Roman Coliseum",(Which was where they threw people in to fight things/people for entertainment)
Looked almost exactly like Battle Arena in GunZ.....
Did they try to create the Roman Coliseum? Likely.

Edit: OH I'm not stupid I know that a movie wouldn't copy off GunZ...Or that romans 1920 years ago would copy off GunZ (DER)...I meant the Battle Arena was based off the Roman Coliseum
