View Full Version : 2 People playing on same IP?

I'm curious about this one.
Read the wall of text only if you have nothing to do ATM :xd:

Well, I was in a game with my level 5 in Free Channel 1 of Match Server, came across this island deathmatch.

First thing I did was check scores and names for any familiar aliases (Tab)
Ok, so I'm scanning the box and it shows:

Lv.2 LethalKiddo blahblahkilldeath
Lv.3 LethalKiddo blahblahkilldeath

I'm thinking: Oh yeah, another name twin, like the old trick where you put the altcode space after the name to make it look like there are 2 same players in the game.

So after a while, I'm noticing weird things happening to those 2 particular players.
They start elevating into the air when I flip them up.

Weird.. So I start validating their names assuming they were hacking. I wanted to get their names and record them so they could be banned. I mean, what would you do if you flipped someone up and they started floating into the air? Yeah, I thought they hacked. But the funny thing is when I validated their names, they both were EXACTLY the same.

So I'm like, wtf? Started asking them why the reason was.

LethalKiddo #1 (I'm numbering them :-D)
said It's because they're both 'playing on the same IP'.

And then they apparently go babbering on about their attack power being doubled or something..

Well the weird thing was, after I checked the post-game recordings, I noticed that whenever the one certain LethalKiddo, slashed or flipped with sword, he/she always flipped/slashed himself.

It's messed up, I haven't seen this occasion before. Assuming the twins were correct about their story, I have no idea how or why it's possible.

well, what actually happend is the person dced from the server and came back. but the original person still appeared to eb there, so it showed his k/d before he came in, but since its the same ip, if 1 moves, they both move. and im assuming the level 3 mustve leveled when he re-entered

The two people were seperate players with seperate moves. I know what you're talking about, like when the frames jitter and leaves a half shadow behind because of DC. But that's not it.

They were BOTH playing. Like they were 2 different gamers.
One could talk, and the other could still be playing their own game. :doh:

Well yeah, but It's kinda cool that you can do that. I wanna find out why o.o

oh yea, i remmeber whe i was lvl 30, i went to a cw, they all had the same name lvl etc

thyey all did the exact same thign with diff weapons, exact timing

i got triple instaed, and i got shot 3 times but shotguns and rockets in midair

it was scary

It's a hack. =S They must've modified it though. What usually happens is, the last person in the room to hit the one with the joining hack gets 'infected,' and that person joins up with them until the hacker gets hit by someone else. Jump/flip=elevator. All moves affect the partner. =S No use trying to ban them. If they're good enough to modify it, they're good enough to avoid getting banned.

It has to be a hack. I have never seen it though XD. I believe goober though.

not only is it illegal to play through the same i.p., but it isn't really possible. Both people would lag out. Each computer has to have its own I.P. assigned to it, so the router can distinguish where to send info.

That's not a valid excuse. I'm connected to the same modem as my little brother, who also plays the game. As a matter of fact, the whole house is under one IP address. Something like that doesn't happen. Worse case scenario, the two people can't fight each other, because the other looks like they're lagging.

Either you have a magical network or you use dyna routing which means you don't have the same I.P.s XD.

That happened o me ALOT.

I would disconect from the game, rejoin the same game but my charcter never actualy left the game, so there apears to be 2 of me, if i rejoin the game after disconecting 50 times tehre will be 49 clones and me making 50 sam600's.

Thats Just A Lagg In The Server It Happens Sometimes If U Leave And You Come Back Happene's Just A Glitch In The Server Dont Wory About It Let The Cber Geeks Handle It.

there is 1 person named lethalkiddo and the other is named lethaikiddo, the i is capitalized to look like an L in game. dunno how they are stuck though..
