So I'm looking into a computer to get for some light gaming (Gunz specifically). I found a computer, but I'm not quite tech-savvy enough to know if this is a good deal for the system. heres the basic specs:

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor Prescott DT Dual Core 3.0GHz, 512K Cache, 800MHz FSB Hyper-Threading Technology
DDR PC4000 333MHz 1GB RAM (1024MB)
Integrated Dual Channel Serial ATA
Integrated ATA/100 EIDE
120GB ATA 7200 RPM hard drives with 8MB DataBurstTM cache (BRAND NEW with 3 year warranty)
Mainstream Graphics (AGP 8X, Up to 128MB)
CDRW+ DVD-ROM Drive,
Integrated AC'97 Full-Duplex Audio
Intel® PRO/1000 MT Gigabit2 Ethernet LOM (LAN on Motherboard)
Removable Media: 3.5" Floppy drive
RJ45 NIC connector, USB 2.0 ports

It's priced at $350

Don't bust me on my low budget-ness, I'm only a student. Do you think this is a good system for the price?

Thanks for your time

That's a good deal for the price, but if you're going on the gaming side, you might want to get a better graphics card. Looked over the specs and if you're for light gaming, it is fine I guess.

Btw, just googled the it up, and found it on craiglist rofl. Watch out for scams though if you are gonna purchase it!

Perferably an ATI or nVidia graphics card. Their the best to go with for gaming.

Go with nvidia. You should really get something above a 8600 gt.. The rest of the system will work fine for what you want.

He'd be paying as much for the video card itself as for all the rest together :=p:

Probably as Aes mentioned, something above nVidia GeForce 8600GT etc.
Cost = Around $50 -$100? US Aprox. (EDIT: Actually, Don't really know about price. But some secondhand retailers can supply for cheap. Check in custom shops and w/e)

I'd recomend a 7 sereis Nvidia Geforce (probly the 7600 depending if your wiling to sepdn more go for a 8 serieies but they go up to 800$ depending on your budget., maybe get a 2nd 1gb of Ram stick. And that's pretty much its fine the way it is.
Also if you are going to buy a 2nd 1gb of RAM make sure it's DDR not DDr2 since your motherboard only handles DDR.

Vista is fine if you have a computer that can handle it.

7 series doesn't support DX 10 XD. I believe that the 8800 is only as expensive as you are saying, but I have not looked recently XD.

i run GunZ at about 120fps with everything on high, i'm using omega drivers, and heres my system specs, this computer costed me pretty much nothing

Microsoft Windows Crystal XP, sp2
Intel Pentium III processor, 996MHz
512MB SD-RAM
nVidia GeForce FX5200 (128MB of VRAM)

it runs gunz nicely, and works somewhat well for light gaming, i can play most games, and once i give my computer time to "settle into the map", i can play the largest WarRock maps with everything on high
