Note: Here is the FAQ thread I wrote a while back, some of it may be outdated but seeing how this forum is yet again getting/going to get out of hand, I have reposted this. (Original Post was sometime in December of 2006)
Dear Gunz Players,
Because I grow very tired in seeing the same questions asked over and over, I've gone out of my way and put together a little FAQ for you guys. Hopefully, the forums wont be as spammed as they are now.

Question: Aw, why can't i start up gunz launcher or gunz?
Answer: You have to hit play live from Ijji's site (http://gunz.ijji.com) and hope to god that you don't get one of the many errors that others have. If you do, then see below.
If you can't find the play live buton or you're just too damn lazy to look for it, here's a helpful link submitted by _Elegant_ which shows you exactly where it is on (http://gunz.ijji.com).

Question: My screen is black, why can't i play gunz?
Answer: There could be a number of reasons ranging from not having minimum system requirements to lag, to a bug that Ijji is currently working on to fix. You could have a firewall that is blocking gunz from accessing the internet. As in all cases of black screen bug, the most common ailment is a bug that Ijji is working on fixing. In other cases, direct x 9.0 is needed to be installed before play. Direct X 9.0 can be found on the download section of Ijji main page. (http://game.ijji.com/download.nhn) [scroll down a bit to find it.] If the download of direct x 9.0 yields no results, attempt the semi-confirmed method of solving black screen bug which is linked to in BIG LIST OF ISSUES v2.1 or higher.
Question: I can't see the servers....?
Answer: Well, you should wait a while first. If still you do not see servers, minimize it and then maximize it. If you still do not see servers, quit out of it. Ok first off, this is unconfirmed but hey, its a possibility. Ok what you do is, (if you are using windows) Start Menu- Control panel. Control panel should pop up. Look for Security Center and click it. Now, a popup will either pop up or not but either way, it should now read Security Center in the top bar. Now look for Windows Firewall. When you click that, a pop up should pop up. Tab over to the Exceptions tab and then find "Add Program." Then you browse your computer for Gunz and Gunz laucher (C:/ijji/ENGLISH/Gunz) and click ok for both of them. (Note: You can't select both of them at the same time...or at least I dont think you can so just redo the browse part to get them both selected.) Now Gunz and Gunz laucher should be on the list of exceptions...make sure they are ticked off (checked off). Now try Gunz, if it works then YAY! If it doesnt...well, i'm still working on it.
Question: I get this error when I play gunz...FFFFFD error, how do i fix it?
Answer: First off, all credits go to minisule but at the moment this method is still unconfirmed. What you need to do is, quit out of your antivirus agent that shows up in the toolbar. If it still does not work, you should uninstall everything (gunz and your antivirus) then, reinstall gunz first before reinstalling antivirus. Keep in mind that if it still doesnt work, then mail me because this method is unconfirmed and only worked for minisule's computer.
Question: Omfg, I GET THIS DUMB NSIS ERROR! WHAT do i DO?
Answer: NSIS errors can be caused by download accelerators, antivirus problems, unreliable servers and active malware on your computer. Please scan your computer for spyware/malware/adware/viruses/etc. If your computer is free of viruses, next turn off your antivirus then click the download link again and be sure to have any download accelerator off. If it still gives you an error, try downloading it from another source (contact some other player, maybe another player has hosted it up somewhere...I know that you can't find it on gunzfactor yet...you can try though). If none of these solutions work, then just bear with me and the rest of the gunz community a little more and hope Ijji fixes it with their next batch of updates.
Question: What are those glowy swords that glow red and blue...and how do I get those hats that the players are wearing in the trailer for gunz?
Answer: Currently, you cannot obtain these items because these items are premium items and premium items have not been released into the game yet although it is scheduled to be released this month (Janurary). Any further questions concerning premium items, scroll down and find the question on Premium items. [EDIT]- Some premium items have come out but not all yet...visit Gunz's item shop which can be seen a few butons to the left of the forums buton.
Question: Why can't i close my clan?
Answer: ......You can close it now! :-D

Go there and then click the update that says clan deletion functionality now open! Then follow the instructions on that page.
Question: How do i get rid of a character in my clan that never comes on?
Answer: /clan dismiss <character name>
You type that putting the character name where the brackets are and getting rid of the brackets.
Question: How do i report these hackers that I see so very often (VERSION A)?
Answer: Simply report these hackers by taking down their name and having adequate proof of their hacking with techniques such as screenshotting or taking a video. To take a screenshot or a video while in-game, you use the keys f12 and f11 respectively. Then when you have the required information please search through the forums for the latest hacker list thread by joebobfrank. Also, now you can email gunz_hacker@ijji.com with a REPLAY of the person hacking YOU MUST HAVE THE HACKER'S GAME ID AS WELL. [EDIT]- Joebobfrank is no longer with us.
Question: How do i k-style?
Answer: Please post this under game tips which can be accessed by switching from message board forum to game tips. The scrolldown bar required for this is to the right of Message Board and reads select forum...its quite hard to miss actually.
Question: What is quest mode/ What are the quest items used for?
Answer: Quest mode is a in-game mode that allows you to beat up on drunken old goblins. By beating up on drunken old goblins carrying little flimsy daggers and such, some items may drop. These items are currently of no use but when Ijji updates gunz, these items when combined in a certain manner will summon a boss quest where the last round of that quest is versus a boss. At the moment, the only quest items that do work are the different pages. The number after the torn page is what level you must at least be in order to sacrifice it and go on a higher lvl quest. Without it, the quest level will always be 0 or 1 depending on your level (over lvl 5 is quest lvl 1) .
Question: When is this new quest mode coming out?
Answer: It's already out. Enjoy what Ijji has brought you. :)
Question: What's wrong with gameguard?
Answer: Absolutely nothing...it just takes higher priority over antivirus systems and thus, the antivirus system is shut off.
Question: Where do i get hacks?
Answer: DONT GET HACKS! they make the game unfair and you risk getting yourself banned.
Question: What is swapping?
Answer: Swapping is when a set number of players agree to let themselves be killed by an individual until that individual gets a higher lvl. Then they switch who gets to kill until they are all at their desired levels. It is a no skill way to level in Gunz and will not be tolerated. Bans will be submitted if swappers are caught.
Question: Why am i lagging? I have a great internet connection!
Answer: This is a problem with your ports and if they are open or not. To solve this problem, you must go in-game options and look for the port settings. Look on www.gunzfactor.com click wiki and look at their guide on port fowarding.
Question: Why can't i play gunz? I clicked play live but nothing happens.
Answer: Currently a bug that is unresolved with Ijji. If you are sure that you have at least the minimum system requirements and you have the latest version of Internet Explorer (which can be downloaded at www.microsoft.com) then you're out of luck at the moment :(
Question: How do i gift a friend?
Answer: This function is currently unavailable.
Question: What happens if i get a message that gives me a website that says gunzonline and is followed by .br or .in?
Answer: This means that you are probably IP blocked because you live too far away to be able to play the North American Version of Gunzonline. Sorry but it looks like you'll have to wait just like the people in North America had to wait for and updated version of gunzonline as well.
Question: I get this message when i hit play live. It says "unable to connect to update server."
Answer: This is most likely caused by a failure in connection (obviously), in some cases, a reload of Ijji will solve this problem. In other cases, an updated version of Internet Explorer may be needed which can be found at (www.microsoft.com). If these solutions still do not solve your problems, then it looks like you have a bug that many others also have.
Question: Omg! My game crashed during game play! What do i do?
Answer: If you're hacking, it will cause this. If you're not hacking, sometimes when you win a "the duel" match, you glitch out of the game with a critical error detected. Its a bug that Ijji is hopefully working on fixing...but in any case, just reload Ijji and gunz and it will work again.
Question: Like ZOMG! THESE HACKERS ARE SO GAY! WHY WON'T IJJI DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?
Answer: Ok, well using this metaphor to better help you understand why Ijji cannot do anything immediate about this hacking problem. Hackers use a program that allows them to modify the actual memory and script of Gunz. For instance, take 2 twins, one that is mentally dumb and one that is a super genius. Imagine if twin A which was mentally dumb had to take a test, the examiner of the test being Ijji. Now twin A is mentally slow, he won't do so well. So instead of taking a bad grade, twin A switches with twin B. Now, twin B the super genius is taking this test. The examiner cannot tell the difference because they are twins. Twin B therefore is the hack. Now take gunz and gunz 'hacked' and put them in place for the twins, twin A being normal gunz and twin B being gunz 'hacked'. It's quite hard to detect the difference. This is why Ijji cannot do anything immediate to solve this problem without the chance of accidently banning more than half of the gunz community who plays legit.
Question: How do I report a hacker (VERSION B)?
Answer: Well, currently in-game there is a /112 (report function) but it only reports chat details...not much of a help. So if you wish to report a hacker, please obtain the hacker's name + proof of their hacking such as a video or screenshot which can be taken in-game using the respective keys f11 and f12. You can post it up at gunzfactor but...I doubt admins of Gunz go there too often...best bet is to report it here by email: gunz_hacker@ijji.com EMAIL WITH REPLAY of the hacker. [EDIT]- Unfortunately /112 function doesnt seem to work in game anymore....
Question: How do i post a video or screenshot?
Answer: If you are in a clan, then visit your clan homepage and post a new topic there. Once you do that, attach the video or screenshot file to your post as well and once you are done with that, obtain the link of the attached file (if you cannot, then simply just obtain the link of the post that you submitted that contains the attached file. Alternatively, you can sign up with various sites that allow you to post up images and files such as rapidshare. Even though rapidshare looks a bit crummy in their website layout, they provide pretty decent service.
Question: How do i play gunz replays (.gzr files)?
Answer: When you are in-game, go into the lobby (where you see all the available games) and look to the bottom left of the screen. There should be a buton there that says Replay. Hit that buton, then select the replay you wish to view and click ok.
GAME MODES:
Deathmatch- free for all
Team deathmatch- ....self explanatory
Deathmatch + extreme--i dont think it exists....
Team deathmatch+extreme- now this exists: Its basically a team death match played up to a certain score and each time someone dies, they don't have to wait for the whole team to die before respawning. Respawn time is that of a normal death match.
Deathmatch + Berserker- the glowy guy hits like double the normal damage of the gun but their ap drains little by little as time goes on (when ap's gone, hp drains). If the berserker kills someone, their hp and ap is restored by a certain amount. When no one is berserker, everyone's ap begins to drain (then moves onto hp).
Gladiator- swords only match like a deathmatch
Team Gladiator- self explanatory
The Duel- This is a mode that starts off in the veteran's channel. Its basically a 1 on 1 match where the winner stays and the loser gets put onto the end of the line (if there is a line) and the next person matches against the winner. But be warned, I find these games kinda glitchy...they quit me out whenever i win -.-;
Quest- Its a quest mode. You fight little goblins and advance through the rounds.
Assasination- A team death match type game where you have to Kill the glowing person. Each team has a glowing person and the game is ended when the glowing person dies.
Question: Hey! How come...
