Question About Mining

I am a level 14 Miner currently.
But it only lets me mine for golden ore.
Can anyone tell me how/when i will be able to mine for iron ore ?

You can only mine a couple minerals, I'm assuming you're mining at Shenburry.

You have to go to Ankha to mine Iron Ore, its very profitable, but its a pain to get there w/o teleportation.
