How do I fish/mine?

Hey all, I was wondering how do I fish/mine? +rep if you help ;)

To fish you need 1 fishing level, a fishing rod and some worms, then go to a fishing spot (use luminary map on main page to find out where a good one is) and then right click the worms and wait.

To mine you need a hoe and a high mining level for best profit, you go to a mining town (check luminary map on main page or info tab in game) and then lease out a mine thing and then click on the rocks to mine.

Can you get your fishing/mining skill up by doing those things? Or only books?

As with all skills, theres three ways of getting them better, books - up to level 30, doing the thing (fishing/mining) - up to 70, and equipment (Don't know if theres any equipment that increases mining/fishing).

Its not even worth mining/fishing with only lvl 1 skill, first, try to use mining books up to at least like skill lvl 15, buy a h.o.e. then start mining, remember there are 3 different places to mine which only have 1 mineral available to mine. In Ankha, you can mine Iron Ores, in Shenburry you can mine Gold Ore, I don't know about the other one though.

Always have skill lvl 30. If you do you will get the most out of what you do.

well, level 30 is kind of hard to get to..
How often do you need to feed yourself when mining?

Depends, I'd say you check like every 3 hours.
