I played the beta and quit at level 25, the game got a bit childish for me, but making things was fun, is there anything more to it or should i permanently stay away form this game?

You're not missing much. Other than Politics and killing other people, the rest of the game is repetitive - kill things, they drop stuff, you use the stuff they drop to make things. There's also a social component that may or may not be relevant.
