ok, well many of you have heard either of the following:
omd=mito roo=exp
or
omd=exp roo=mito
but which one is actually true?
the only way to settle this is with a statistical analysis, meaning lets add up the numbers.
so, this is wat i thought of. for mito checking, plz post what lvl you got up to 1 mil. mito. and also state how. this way if an omd driver got 1 mil after 60+ ish and a roo driver got 1 mil before 60+ ish, then we can conclude that roo tends to get more mito than omd, or vice versa.
so state when you reached a mil, how you reached it, and whether you chose roo or omd.
ill start off:
reached 1 mil. at lvl 58
did patrols and got 30k from boss huv
currently in roo

It helps when you use proper sentences when you want clear answers in a long response.
Getting money doesn't necessarily depend on the team. Money depends on how much you play and how much you spend. To base it solely on basis of team is too ambiguous at this point with little empirical data and no real record of expenses. It would take more effort than what it's worth to track something as random as part drops. Earning money depends much more on how the player trades/handles money than on part drops.
I'll tell you this much; when people say "OMD = money" and "ROO = exp," they're referring to mission rewards. But in the drawn out reality in regard to assets OMD versus ROO, OMD will come out on top in both aspects as I will explain:
Of course, both teams have Deliveries/TimeAttacks, which are relatively equal, and Patrols/Scouts ,which differ in terms of exp reward (ie 2xp/330xp OMD vs 4xp/500xp ROO). On the topic of Patrols, I'm skeptical about people who claim ROO drops are better than OMD drops, evidence of which is naught. I believe they are equal in part drop and relative Mito gain. Agreeably, if the only thing you choose to do is Patrol, then ROO would be the team for you EXP wise.
As I have explained, OMD gives out much more Mito than ROO in terms of missions, and patrol-wise they can be thought of as equal.
However, the major difference lies in the two things that OMD has over ROO: InstantMissions and HUV. People claim that doing ROO Missions (which nets about 1,190 xp excluding Combo Bonuses) levels them up much faster than anything you can do in OMD. This is absolutely false as I have found. EXP wise, HUVs are much faster: you net about 500-720 xp (5-8 car chases) in about 2 minutes at the fastest (3-4 minutes being the norm) while the fastest patrols average about 10 minutes (your normal patrol can be expected at about 15 minutes). With the correct technique, you can earn at least twice the exp doing HUVs as you can in one ROO Patrol. Next are the instant missions which reward 2k for delivery, 10k for 15team or 30completed races. EXP wise, these are negligible, but in a Mito sense, you can net quite a few thousand depending on how well you drive.
In a holistic sense, OMD wins over ROO, but you also have to take into consideration your play style. If all you're going to do is Patrol, then go with ROO. If you like to have options, go with OMD.

This isn't a very good attempt at a statistical analysis. Just look for whoever can earn more exp/mito per hour. It's a much better way.

hm an hour ? I can do about 6-7 patrols in Oros, while getting like 18-21 lv60 crap parts which are worth about 900mito each. Plus, 6-7 of 1ml liquid mittron worth about 3.2k-3.5k each. Thats only about mitos. If EXP, 500exp plus 640 exp(4exp for each checkpoints x 160). And, about 2-4 exp for like every 2 checkpoints if u're in a combo party. Btw im lv67 now.

just to add, i think what he means by 'both' is getting one chracter (or account/license, whatever you call it...) to be OMD for mitos, and another to be ROO for leveling up (this should be your main character).

I'm stuck in ROO right now (Lv47) and it's rubbish. GIVE ME OMD BACK! It's not just the Mito. You get EXP much much faster doing HUVs in OMD than doing Scouts in ROO.

no one realizes how omd is distracted by the HUV chases, what omd person is going to choose lvling in an hour, or lvling in a day patrols = biggest source of money maker in drift city, i can make almost 100k in 2 days from patrols

i prefer OMD
Reasons:
I gain money when i HUV such as
Korean parts
Mittron enhancer
Liquid Mittron (5L)
and other parts that adds up...
it might seem slow, but after awhile, it adds up alot...and dont forget patrolling, just the same thing
ROO patrol and have more exp per ring, but which is quicker? 4-5 exp per ring x 160 or 720 exp for 8 huv cars in couple seconds?
**EDIT
i can make 200k a day from patrolling as an OMD
