I think this is another fail attempt to squeeze every dollar they can from a game that is going dead, but yet.. good.
Why? If you buy the gold set thingies.. then I don't see a big deal and a chance to earn more g coins from it. $5 to earn $5 coins? Why not if you still pay..
They'll make it the other choices sooner or later just give it time.

THe service is hosted by paypal, but you don't have to have a paypal account to use it. If you don't have a card....well then your screwed...
