I have one heck of a problem here. And gifts to the (wo)man who sorts it.
My Pc Base Spec:
Quad Core
4Gb Ram
8800 GTS 512
Vista Premium 64bit
I can run Cod4, AoR and WoW all at once and have no Lag. However when it comes to GunZ..
On Garden i get excessive fps lag, on the other maps its minor and only in certain spots.
Ive been playing gunz for years. I used to play on my laptop mainly and never had any fps issues?
And now I have a decent pc I lag? I have no clue as to why this is?
It is not the resolution. I have cycled through all the resolutions and nothing solved it.
My Config file:

Ugh, it's not the resolution, and that I am sure of. Have you ever wondered why when you look at the sun in GunZ, the screen all of a sudden starts to spike lag? Your ping does not shoot up however. By increasing the resolution or decreasing, it does nothing to solve this problem. The problem lies within the graphics. I can too play CoD4, WoW, and Warcraft 3 with a hundred of units attacking at once with no lag at all! But, when I play maps with the sun blazing right at me, my screen starts the go slowly, as I turn, it spikes. Try decreasing the graphics and see if that works.
Example, Island ( well, that is the only one for me ). Garden, lots of detail.
P.S. Even though the graphics may not be all that good, the problem may still exist with greater graphics cards.
Hope I helped.
P.S.S. If it worked and you didn't lie about the G Coins, I don't want them, just glad to help! : )
One thing to point out, and maybe this is what has been causing lag accidentally. When I receive a med of any sort, including the power-ups (whatever they are called), as I walk up to a wall (back facing) with the glow of the healing so close, it creates this HUGE screen lag.

Well, he put information about a lot of stuff, not including graphics. I don't see anything that can cause screen lag [that, and I am getting to lazy to think. : )] except for these I am about to list:
1. Many programs running with GunZ
2. Only happens for some computers while playing this game: if using Firefox and is not IE Tabbed
3. Graphics Quality
I am not sure, and am not looking into this thoroughly.

I've actually had my old, old, old... really old computer do things my new one can't because of all the new add-ons they have given to the newer one, and all the stuff they have "changed". Same with my Vista computer, it can do things my XP can't, and vice-versa.

Some tricks that might work:
1. Try playing in compatibility mode! It works for some people with map-exclusive lag.
2. Play as administrator on Vista.
Since you're running such a high powered computer you should turn all the options on, e.g. dynamic light

Dynamic light has been one problem to cause screen lag. I don't know why either, even on my cousins new computer + his newly bought Geforce graphics card.
(unreciprocated deliberation) You don't have to check the box for play as administrator, for Vista. I do not believe it changes anything with lag.

I mean, some things are weird on Vista that don't allow me to play some games...
Does anyone know why Vista comes out with such a crap graphics card? I had to buy a new one to play most of the games that I couldn't when I first got it...

Sorry for the late reply.
Nothing here has helped but thanks anyway.
After an FPS check. I average around 600fps according to fraps. So there is no issue there..
So the question is, what is causing the screen lag? It happens in garden in the outside part where the Well is with the HP spawn..
And yes the gifting for a solution is true.
