Okay, okay... So it IS a good thing in itself. But is it helpful overall? My answer is no.
If x-10 has the best EXP, then that is where everyone will WANT to be... But when everyone GETS there, then the people who are left behind TRYING to get there are... well, left behind! And when people are not given incentive to help other people get there, it causes a breakdown in the community.
Here are some suggestions I came up with to fix the problem:
FIRST: You have to take the "severe" amount of EXP gained on x-10, and spread it throughout the episode. In the end, finishing an episode, Stage 1 to Stage 10, would give the same EXP as you get for x-10 now, PLUS an extra amount for x-10 (which is not severe). Probably, 10% more sounds good. I will refer to this as "Normal EXP"
Make all Stages give 5x their normal EXP, ONCE. (a "Primary Award") For x-10 stages, the amount they give would probably only be 2x that much. After that, the Normal EXP amount applies.
NEXT, when you complete a stage you have already done, with someone who has NOT already done it, you get EXP equal to half of the Primary amount (totaling 2.5x Normal EXP)
Now, for parties: If you complete a stage you have already done, with party members who have also already done the stage, then your EXP award will be (normal Award + (33% of (HALF of the normal award))).
An example... We'll use History Lir.
When you finish it for the first time, you would get (for purpose of example) 750,000 EXP.
Each time after that, you would get 150,000.
When you do it with anyone who has not finished it before, you instead get 375,000 EXP.
If everyone has finished it, you get your 150,000 + another 25,000 for each person.
PLEASE NOTE: Numbers and percents WILL have to be tweaked: As they are now, people would reach Level 75 in 6 months, which is also a bad thing.
Why I think this would work... Well... It gives incentive to help people through stages... It allows people to gain more than relatively no EXP on the stages other than x-10, and the best part is, people will WANT to help others move ahead to get that extra EXP.
Please tell me what you think.
