Choose the one you enjoy the most.

So, if you like to stage a lot, I would say a support build Healer is better.
Mages die too fast in stages, even though they do higher amount of damage in stages.

But if you like flashy spells at higher levels, pick Mage.

QFT.

And no, mages DON'T die too fast in stages if you know how to play one properly. I met quite a few mages who out-lasted everyone else in the party...

Well, I chose all of them, but here's a quick 11 questions that defines the difference to who's better (although not completely accurate):

1) Do you support your allies a lot? (1 for yes, 2 for no)
2) Do you like to spam you skills? (2 for yes, 1 for no)
3) Do you want to combo, yet not use too many skills? (2 for yes, 1 for no)
4) Do you work well with others? (1 for yes, 2 for no)
5) Do you like to use Area of Effect skillz? (2 for yes, 1 for no)
6) Do you use a lot of defensive skillz? (1 for yes, 2 for no)
7) Which is your forte, mana or healing? (1 for healing, 2 for mana)
8) Which do you like better, strong attacks or speedy attacks (1 for speedy, 2 for stong)
9) Which do you play more, defensively or offensively? (1 for defense, 2 for offense)
10) Are you patient? (1 for yes, 2 for no)
11) Which do you like the most, Effective Skillz or Defective Skillz? (1 for defective [meaning helps against status effects], 2 for effective)

1,1,2,2,2,1,2,1,2,1,2

If you have more 1s than 2s, you are better as a healer, if opposite, mage. But don't take my test for it. Try it yourself.

(BTW, I took this test myself and got 6 2s and 5 1s. I still prefer Eir)

This.

I've watched a certain Dainn essentially solo Legend Daru after all the rest of us died. Any class powered by an experienced user is unstoppable.

Make a Dainn because if you follow the right build, you can make them overpowered. But choose whichever one you like the most.

If after every advice we give you, you still can't decide, then simply choose Dainn if you're a guy IRL or Eir if you're a girl IRL =p. Or you could decide to play both as much as the other, leveling them equally.
