Dear Gunbound Users:
Ever since the start of our service, users have been able to easily change the gender of their avatars in their account settings. This option caused a problem in Gunbound’s avatar system. Users wearing items of one gender and then switching gender would then appear to be wearing completely different items (or even the avatar would not show up at all).
To solve this problem, we will be removing this option entirely. The option will be removed and all avatars permanently set to their last chosen gender on February 5th, 2007. Please choose your permanent gender by February 4th. While we would like to be able to provide as many features as possible, we feel this is the best way to deal with the problem.
Some users have already purchased items of a different gender than their usual gender setting. Any limitless items that do not match the chosen gender will be removed from their inventories and full refunds will be provided. Any rare items that do not match the chosen gender will be replaced with the matching version. These refunds and replacements will occur during a system maintenance on February 14th.
We apologize for any inconvenience and the loss of the feature, but we hope this change will be appreciated in the long run by our users.
