View Full Version : What do you use as a tactic?

Personally, I circle a sniper, and shoot them many times.
Now, there is the sudden death tactic, which is swerving around, making the sniper miss most of his shots, then when you're up close, take out your gun and fire away.

Well lets see... if you're talking about taking out snipers, what I prefer to do is toss a smoke, then run to the closest point to them. Hopefully they've shot alot of times, if not pop up and down to waste their ammo. Once you hear them reloading run over and kill.

Ok, thx I will.
There is a big flaw to that: you only get one smoke per game. Chances are that in the beginning of the game there will be someone flanking the sniper.
I would recommend jumping randomly + crouching: it really is the only viable solution. If you're good, try strafing with the AK, it works quite well. Otherwise, it depends on what weapon you use. If the weapon doesn't really react whether or not you strafe or not, the strafe. Bullets causes the sniper gun itself to recoil, which helps quite a bit. Watch out for quickscopers though, best bet would be to sneak up from behind on them.

One effective way is just to not go up against a sniper at long range or solo but do it as a team.

I use many different techniques to kill people, each technique requires a different strategy. Since there are always random factors in a battle (ie, lag, skills, aim, weapons, numbers) each requires a different way of handling the situation. I follow these rules of thumb, I will give you five for each category. Since I want to keep some tips to myself, and let you guys figure them out on your own.. Keep in mind, I have a M16, so these rules apply to those whom do not have a sniper rifle.
Snipers:
Anything that has a scope is classified as a Sniper (in my book).
1.) NEVER ADVANCE ON A SNIPER THAT HAS A BULLET ON THE CHAMBER.
Because there is still a bullet in the chamber, (and going against a relatively skilled sniper) chances of him/her hitting you are extremely high. So after the sniper fires his/her bullet advance forward, slowly getting within range.
2.) SHOOT AT SNIPERS AFTER THEY HAVE FIRED
Since they fired it takes them a few seconds to reposition, and assuming one knows where and how to aim, the sniper can and will be killed within those few seconds of repositioning.
3.) SMOKES MAKES GOOD FRIENDS
If going against a good sniper and s/he is in a good position, feel free to toss a friendly smoke grenade his/her way. The smoke blocks his/her view and thus makes him/her reposition himself leaving one time to sneak up on the sniper and killing him/her.
4.) RANGE IS THEIR FRIEND, NOT YOURS
Assuming that the player does not have a sniper rifle and has a rifle/machine gun instead, do not attack a sniper at long range. So get as close as possible before shoothing him/her. The closer you are to them, the easier it is for them to hit someone, but once a player gets too close (and knows what s/he is doing)_ the sniper be killed ralatively quickly.
5.) LEARN TO JUMP/HOP THE RIGHT WAY
Those that have seen me play, they will note that I do a strange jump/hop when fighting snipers. This way they cannot kill me quickly and causes them to miss, a lot; further frustrating them and making their shots less accurate. How to jump correctly, is a clan secret but I'll give you guys a taste: do not just plain jump up and down or left and right, too predictable. Instead try jumping and turning your head, or jumping and crouching.
Assault:
Anything that does not attack from long range (ie, M16 and M4a1) and requires short range to remain accurate is classified as an Assault weapon (in my book).
1.) SHOOT TO KILL
It cannot be stressed enough in this case. It is important to know which part of the body takes the most damage. The foot does not take as much as the leg, and the leg does not take as much as the chest, and the head takes the most. So when aiming to kill Assaulters aim for their upper-body or their head, at all times.
2.) CRIPPLED TARGETS ARE THE BEST KIND
A crippled target is a target that cannot see nor cannot move. So when in a battle, feel free to toss a Flashbang into a battle. One might get called a "Flash Noob" but who cares, that person got killed and the other did not. In small areas, and flash bangs are gone, use a smoke from a short distance away, thus crippling their sight and not yours making them "fishes in a bucket".
3.) THE ASSUALTER IS HIDING? NO PROBLEM, HELLO GRENADES
This is one my father told me, from observing my battles. If one cannot see his/her opponent, no problem, toss a grenade behind/near him/her this will damage/kill him/her or make him/her move from his/her spot exposing him/herself, but hope for the grenade kill. Although, do not use too many grenades, otherwise just go for another opponent, or have someone sneak up and shoot.
4.) TEAMWORK! SOMETHINGS NOOBS KNOW NOT
Teamwork is essential to winning anything, with the exception of Single Battle. Learn the choke points in a map, this will help win victory easy when taken. When pinned down, ask a team mate to relieve pressure off oneself, if s/he dies quicky apologize after the other guy is dead. If a team is working together they are a force to be reckoned with, a team of four working together, successfully, can beat a team of eight working as an "One-Man Army"anytime.
5.) DO NOT HIDE IN EXPOSED SPOTS
A good spot is defined (by me) as a spot that has one area of attack. For example, the roof near the starting point for Blue in Desert Camp, may seem tempting and a good spot, but it is not. There are multiple areas of attack and death will come quickly, if a team is not working together or the area is not secure. The stairs to the area right across from the stairs in the basement is defined as a good spot (by me) because it serves as a choke point and can only be attacked from one spot, and one view point. However against grenades, an extremely bad spot to be in.
General
Anything that does not fall into the two above categories, and revovles around fellow players and etiquette rules.
1.) DO NOT ACCUSE OTHERS OF AIMBOTTING/HACKING
Do not automatically assume others are aimbotting/hacking. S/He coould just be better than oneself, s/he could know what s/he is doing and the other does not. Why not spec him/her to learn how s/he operates. Only call him/her a Hacker/Aimbotter if s/he is actually doing so. If s/he is aimbotting, screenshot it, send it in and report him/her. His/Her account will be banned, end of story.
2.) REMEMBER! SOLDIER FRONT...IS...A...GAME
Please, remember. Soldier Front is a game, no matter what :=p:. So do not get mad at other players for being better or acting like a noob. It is a game, and that is all.
3.) POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT, FOR THE WIN!
Feel free to give applaud for the other side every once in a while. If one's team is "raping" and the other team wins, congratulate them, they earned it. Also, praise team mates for their feats[, not just yours.
4.) DO NOT ADULATE YOURSELF
Do not say that you are good, let others adulate you. Do not assume that you are the best in the game, others could just be having a bad game.. When one is hailed by his/her team-mates then one knows s/he is good.
5.) POLITNESS MAKES A BETTER GAME
A game (to me) is always more intense because the players are nice andn ot accusing others of cheating/glitching. A little politness goes a long way, heck, it might even improve the mood of the game.
Feel free to ask me for more tips, and if you do not believe any of these work, ask whome. He has seen me do some of these set-ups and asked if he could borrow some of them. Heck, he even extended a clan invite to me, I would have excepted if I was not so darn loyal to my clan.
