Males are bigger (with slightly bigger hitboxes) and seem bulkier, making them stand out more and easier to follow and hit.

Females -DO- move faster. Put it this way. All characters travel the same distance in the same time. However, since females are smaller, their sprite needs to move faster to keep up, thus making them harder to hit.

It takes a lot more skill to win with a male then a female, just like it takes a lot more skill to win with one shotgun rather then spamming with two.

There's no way MAIET would have made one gender have an advantage over the other, otherwise EVERY SINGLE person would make a new character as a female, for the smaller hitbox...

They are EXACTLY the same.

E-mail Maiet. The only difference is in animation. Female sprites move they're hands faster, they're butterfly looks more fluent, but theres no actual difference to a males.

I'm not sure about the hitboxes, but I am sure that it is certainly mentally deceptive that female's move faster, thus harder to hit.

So female's are harder to hit. Just cause they don't look as bulky and slow as male characters.

P.S. There's nothing technical about it, so if anyone has anything to say about it, don't start being technical with moving speed and whatnot.
