It only increases your MAXIMUM damage, meaning you'll only have a CHANCE at seeing the difference.
If you're getting the damage increase from the bless, open your Character Info window, and watch your damage while you use the bless, and you'll see what I mean.

It only affects your normal attacks (A, S, Space).
