first person, cuz it gives u a great sense of speed, and drifting is easy (Note: i play initial D arcade stage version 3 and 4 alot and it's in first person, you do have a choice to change it, but why mess with perfection?)

3rd person for me, it's a different drifting game than others. It depends how it drifts, this is the first game that i've played with the way it drifts like that. It's different to NFS, initial d and most of the drifting games. But most of the other games i have it on 1st person, whereas this drifting game is totally different, it's more sharper.

3rd person here... i use what you would call.... controlled drifting... or selective drifting, it really helps when ur in the middle of the drift and there happens to be a car that you wouldnt see in 1st person, so you drift longer to go around it. somewhat tricky i would say :lolz:

Third person is probably "better" for battlezone, it gives you a better sense of distance from the turns to time your dirfts appropriately, personally I use first person though, it's just more fun in first person, although a bit more difficult to get the timing on the drifts just right. Wish there were a rear view mirror in first person though.

I'd much rather play in 3rd person, over 1st person. I find 3rd person a lot more easier and more efficient in the battle zone. It helps me avoid the upcoming traffic, as well as helping me know how I should turn when approaching the corners.

Well if u try for the first time, your gonna crash alot.

But try drifting with it in the city. then u get used to it and gives a nice experience.
But im guilty to this much, in a 16 person race, i do go 3rd person.
Better if u need to block off people.

[Edit] frogot to add this, once you get used to a map enough you know what corners are comming up, and how to turn, also there is a sub map, so that helps alot with first person, also i configued my keys so that my rear-veiw is close at hand *blocks you*

For all of it's advantages and dis-advantages. I get more of a adrenalin rush out of it.

If it's like Project Torque, I use First Person's View.
If it's DC/SR I use Third Person's View.

Eh, I use first-person views for all racing games. In street racign games, it allows me to focus more on the traffic and what I need to do to avoid being passed or hit an NPC car. And I usually can tell when I'm drifting, can't see jack in the direction I need to be headed. Only disadvantage to first-person in DC is that you can't view sides/rear. So, if you have first person on, and you get completely sideways on a drift, hope there's no NPC cars. 'Cos you won't see them.

3rd person's view! i honestly don't know how to play in 1st person's view cuz i can't see anything. And i prefer watching myself drift than going into the car to watch. I've never tried driving a car but i think 3rd person should is cooler. Although 1st person makes you look like you are travelling very fast (at least faster than 3rd person's view), i don't prefer it cause it takes away the beautiful scenery around away.

And it makes driving look dangerous too. :) Looks painful when crashing... ouch

I think 3rd person is better for this game all around. 1st person drifting is kind of weird in this game, the car turns so sharply into the turn that the camera jerks and shifts like crazy and you can't see where the car is going anymore.. Though I'm sure that with practice 1st person can and will become something like second nature and it will be just as easy as 3rd person. This is the only driving/drifting game i've played where 3rd person view is easier to start with than the 1st person view >.<

I dunno why, but I race better in 1st person. It's easier for me to judge the distance to the turn before I drift while in 1st person and to dodge traffic/objects. When I drive in 3rd, I crash into everything t.t
