Soldier Front Not Working On Vista???

Hiya guys i have recently bought a new computer with windows vista. I then created an account on ijji, downloaded soldier front then when it didn't load i realised that soldier front doesn't work on windows vista. Is there anyway i can still play on soldier front. PLEASE HELP!

SF does have limited support 4 Windows Vista but It Works i used to have Vista but the cursor was actiing weird so i went back to XP

I can play soldier front on it, but it lags so badly. my friend has a vista desktop with 3gb ram and 400 gb hard drive, and soldier front runs as if soldier front was made for that computer. well ive had vista for bout 3 months and i had the same problem it wasnt the graphics card it was a thing with the game download part of the new vista software blocks grapichs out but the graphics card has nothing to do with it my other computer is windows xp and it had same graphics card but no problem with it its just a software flaw in vista they didnt make it right guys thats why people have problems with it its a cheap non-labours system. you just need to redownload after u take out the blocker for the software download. ill put in in terms soldier front users understand. u need 2 :sniper: (get rid of/shoot) the :sf1: (block):D

well, as you would know if your any bit computer savvy(savvy?). anyway you would know that vista has a different way of organizing your information. Now depending on your computer (who you got from, its specs) it may or may not use that function. my does because i like it. but i changed it wile downloading sf. I'm not sure about your computer so changing it could result in fatal errors.

When you click the Play Live button it reads from the U_sf file. If it cannot locate the file. It cannot open.


** what can i do about it **

I would suggest calling your computer's provider company and talking with there tech support teams regarding File organization issues.

I had the problem as well. All you gotta do is go to ijji/ENGLISH/u_sf/ and click on application "u_sf", or something. MUST BE AN ADMINISTRATOR. Go to "Compatibility", click "Run as XP Pack 2", and on the button, check the thing that says "Run as Administrator"

error log system is a error that exits when you enter a room most of the time (if someone says reinstall dont listin its pointless.) you either need to upgrade your gfx card or buy a new one. with soldierfront you need a minimum of a 32 mb gfx card. just get one from here http://www.ebay.com it happend to me when i was playing sf on a 16mb gfx card but now im on my new laptop has a 32mb gfx card and now it works fine now but its hard to play with a touchpad

SF works fine for me, can u name what ur problem is? Oh, and if u have low memory u might wanna do what i do when i run high-memory-taking-programs on my comp. Press ctrl+ alt+ del
GO processses:
Kill the folowing apps
Explorer.exe
dwm.exe
searchindexer.exe

by doing this, u give ur comp ALOT of memory

For some applications at the compatability tab tick
Disable Desktop composition
Disable high scaling on high dpi settings =)

Basically any computer that runs Vista and has 500mb or so of RAM will suck.. it's a known fact i'm afraid. What you need to do if you run Vista and u have 500mb of RAM you need to buy another 500mb chip so that it totals to 1gb which is the basic requirement to run sf.

I haven't played soldier front in 4 months, I come back, try to load it, it wont work, so I uninstall it, reinstall it, now I load it up, get to the server select screen, click "Danger Zone" Cilck "Enter" then it freezes, a while later a pop up appears "Error: Try Again"

i have a problem in getting in servers.iwhen it loads to the server list i click any that is stable(usually front line) and ten it freezes and a few seconds later this pops up > choose a server in 30 seconds or game will be disconnect or something like that.then it says connection to server has been lost. finally i have to ctr+alt+delete , cause that the only way to get and then it goes back to normal.

Just try everything first.... Delete Solider front from the computer system...Control Panel>Remove/add programs.... and then install it again. if that doesnt work, then i guess youll have to wait. (you could get another computer if its alright with you!:D)

Okay I have a brand new Compaq with Vista and I have had some issues too. But I have adjusted some of the settings on SF and on my PC and now Soldier Front works fine. You need to be more specific with your issues or else we cannot help you.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate and it works fine, maybe if Soldier Front dosnt work for you then you should try download Mozilla Firefox and download the Soldier Front client and Firefox launcher from ijji and then try and play Soldier Front again. This is what I did when my SF stopped working for some reason and now it works fine, if not better becouse now my ping is a bit lower.

started LAST YEAR thanksgiving update...

after that sf update, everytime i log-on i get gamehack detected error. Then, the program would just close. my computer would be messed up after that. The clock at the lower left doesnt work and i cant click anything (although i can still move the mouse). So i always end up shutting my comp down by ctrl+alt+del.

im pretty sure i dont have gamehack (or gamehack for any games) coz i already spent money on it and i am already a captain that time and i dont want that to be messed up.

so for those who might think i got gamehack. Who in the world would you think would spend all money and time just to mess up his character in the end?

maybe if u went to the sf file and find the soldierfront.exe and right click it setting properties>compatability> run as windows service xP> run as administrator? That worked for some of my games on vista so maybe it works the same for soldier front. Although an old computer does have a major impact on how well that game is running.

hi i use a vista notebook with 2gb ram and 200 gb hard drive. I can play soldier front on it, but it lags so badly. my friend has a vista desktop with 3gb ram and 400 gb hard drive, and soldier front runs as if soldier front was made for that computer. Why doesnt it work on mine? mines an amd procesor with nvidia card, his is intel quad core with nvidia card

I have about the same spec laptop as you and mine works fine, could be your internet.
I also have a 8GB RAM, 2.8 GHZ Processor, 8800 graphics card, and 1 TB Harddrive ( 1000gigs for u noobs) and SF runs at 33 CONSTANT FPS. But the truth is that vista loaded laptops tend to run with less performance than i would expect. >.<

This is a very big coincidence, I just got myself a new computer with vista software and wondered why MY soldier front wasn't working as well. Seems my issue was that my computer's RAM couldn't support soldier front enough to play effectively, maybe you could try doing a bit of research as I'm doing.

Every ram supports soldier front, unless you ONLY have 1 gig of ram on a Vista machine. I recommend having at least 2 gigs if you're on Vista.

Just do a system restore on it to the last date that you remember soldier front actually working (it will restore your computer to everything you had on your computer at the date and time)

Whats the RAM on your computer? windows vista requires 800MB of RAM just to run, if that is maxing out your RAM you wont be able to run alot... Im currently running vista and SF runs but not too well, the screen blinks every couple of mins but its playable

1. Nvidia 9500 GS isnt best graphics card there.
2. I have vista ultimate, and i know what you mean fuzion when you say vista automatically changes it off aero, but it doesnt do it for soldier front, it only does it for things like vlc media player and the like.
3. the problem is probably some other program interfering with it, because i know soldier front works fine on vista.

Actually Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS is a great graphics card. I tried SF on my brother's computer which has the Nvidia 9600 graphics card, then tried my GeForce 9500 GS on my new computer.

My graphics card provides me with twice more quality, speed, detail.

Can i suggest you try running it as admnistrator & with windows XP compatability enabled.

That tends to work for other games, but i'm notsure if it is even possible with SS.

the problem is on mine 1/2 of the games my moniter (the screen if u dont know) has a random shutdown and regens

Stop basing your facts on opinions. Vista's do not suck.


Also try going into the properties for Solider Front and going to the compatability tab.
Then change to run in "Windows Service Pack 2".
Also put it on Run on Administrator.
That's how I get most games to work on my Vista.

I sure could use some help if there is a way to play on this puter i bought the computer mainly to play sf as my old comp was so slow it hampered everything for me

Are you Administator on your pc? i had to make myself Administrator to get mine to stop freezing at the server select part. If this keep's happening maybe try contacting the help desk and see if they know what's up.
