lol i think dragonfly(makers of SF..ALL VERSIONS OF THEM) programs it. ijji cant do anything to change the game. they can provide suggestions to dragonfly, but it isnt up to ijji to change the game.

This is the KSF [ Korean Special Force ]. It was released in 2004 about 3 years ago. This is a pretty old game. The KSF people are amazing, don't even try going there just because glitching is fixed there :D. I think if you see a sniper your like instantly dead or something, idk :D. I don't DARE touch that game, lollerskates.

There's a simpler way.

For Boxes: Put progressively smaller boxes inside the original box. When someone tries to glitch, it won't work because the boxes inside the original box are still solid objects and will push the person back out.

For Walls: Do the same thing. However, only make 1 wall behind it, because adding too much programming will cause excessive lag.

For Water (Shang): Add water under the water... That way no matter where they go, they die xD

You guys know what this game needs? The functions in GunZ. Like Friends list and especially, the vote to kick function. This game also needs an in-game reporting system. Floors/location borders can be glitched too, but I won't go into detail on how. Probably the most infamous example of this is in Shang hai (most probably know what I'm talking about). Patching this up with your method would take too long.

the problem is some times as you go through a door or around a corner, you partially pass through the walls or boxes. not as dar as a glitcher does but a little. what MOH Spearhead does is after you have been in that area for too long, say a few seconds, then you catch fire. but spearhead games online are hosted by clans on servers they lease or rent. this is a little different. i don't think there is a perfect solution right now for glitching. i know i've about given up even reporting them.. i could report 10 a day, maybe more. the best way right now is to anounce the glitcher, even on your own team and refuse to play if they don't stop.

Ingame Vote to Kick Problem Solved. People see glitcher. People vote to boot glitcher. Glitcher either quits game or has to go legit. Same thing for Tappers hackers etc. Though this could also be abused in the other direction.

(ie calling votes to kick good players just because err they are good >.> The % would have to be fairly high tokick though so maybe 75% of the game has to vote yes sounds quite reasonable. in an 8v8 thatd be 12 people, 3v3 4 people, etc. This does not account for the other team being well disreputable and voting no regardless. Also see the problem of legit players being called hackers for this like wallhacks because they make use of footsteps but meh its a double edged sword i suppose)

why does everyone hate glitchers so much, im a good rank and when im doing really well and someone spoils it by lagging or glitching, so i glitch back, and everyone else on the opposing team who had been ignoring their glitcher/lagger suddenly hurl abuse at me for glitching. and i can understand it if they were winning fairly but i only glitch when someone on the other team has lagged or glitched.

this is a better idea, some reason glitchers say use a certain key on keyboard( cant say on forums sry) when they glitch, try to disable this glitching tool some how.

Suggested before, the reply given was that there's no way to distinguish the difference between lag and intentional glitching, so a laggy person could end up dying unfairly.

Doing that to the objects can actually kill innocent players. If you've ever seen someone appear to move through a wall due to lag when they are really not, server might think he went into said object and decide to kill him.

I say just make the inside of all the models apart from players and weapons another wall. So if they manage to get in, Have fun seeing, shooting, or getting out of there. However this will cause maps to lag more on startup due to having to double the rending of walls and textures.

The biggest problem with combating glitchers and hackers in any games is how is said method going to affect normal players. I can relate this to another game (day of defeat) where recoil hackers have spammed the Machine Guns without setting them up yet having perfect aim. So, one of the servers came up with a script that makes you unable to fire said MG while not set up. Bye bye to all point blank MG kills.

On the very first page, GM_SKiNG gave a possible reason on why they might not be able to do it, though personally I still think that's what they should do, kill mesh and be done with it, though any fix will still ultimately rely on the devs, Dragonfly, going back and either fixing their geometry, or putting kill meshes in off limit areas.

Look all theses ideas are really smart and all and i like them in fact specially the one above me thats a good one but i think there be a down fall in it not really sure on that, But thats besides the point. The GMs of Solider Front Can not edit/and don't even program the game they do not have that privilege and 2 the game is already completed in other countries but add on different things to it time to time.

Just sending our ideas here is quite pointless, even if the GMs read theses and send them into the company that programs this game i believe they know about the problem already :D because theses happen allot in every soldier front out there... Put in a kill mesh that covers the entire inside of all objects, then it doesn't matter, you go inside the environment or within statics in the map, you die. If the occasional clipping that happens to people who lag is a problem, deal 10 damage every half-second or so, then it's a non issue, they may clip through the corner but they will only lose 10-20 hp, they stay inside of it, they're dead within 5 seconds.

Maybe create a team / thinktank on how to handle the reports more efficiently! Also another good idea would be a command such as type '' /report codename'' during game, this would take a screen shot of the users Client Side View. Automaticlay uploading it while user is not in game ( in lobby or waiting in room is ok ). This is possible, I use this type of mod on all three of my cs 1.6 servers, it uploads to one of my websites, and I review the ss at my leisure.

On another note: WTF :O this post is ANCIENT ( but the problem still resides )

This is nice but.. For 3 reasons i dont like it.

#1. that COULD cause problems for people who arent glitching.
(such as jumping on a box)
#2.LAGGY SERVER.
#3. It would take Soldierfrotn VERY long to do that. since adding a new gun takes about 4 hours. Think about how long it would take to Line the whole place with that.

You can't do it. That would mean that you would have a leak in the map. Think of the map as a big, closed, container of pudding. You know the invisible walls that don't let you out of the map? Those make up the roof of the container and the top of the side walls. They close up the map like a box. If you were to poke a hole in the map like you suggest, then the whole map becomes invalid, you get leaks in the vis file (not sure if SF uses that), and other bad stuff, similar to the leak in the pudding.

That's what happens with the Source engine for Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2, anyway, but programming for all maps is fundamentally the same.

If GMs had it their way, glitchers would probably get de-leveled back to trainee, lose all of their cash, weapons, and items, get 3 bullet holes, make them suicide the first 5 times in games, and be left to fend with just a knife once they glitch. XD. Well...at least that's what I'd do.

Its not that easy to change the floor you know XD. If you want to change an area, even a tile, you have to change the whole ground/floor/water! And Soldier Front is not a "noobish FPS"; how about you try to make your own game? This isn't flame; this is just to make you think about the hardships updates/changes would be, and not complain to the Gm's that much!

As stated about three times, ijji can't do anything about it. They just host the game for us.
Dragonfly makes it so you would have to ask them to help ijji out. I think dragonfly only hosts one version of soldier-front which is actually called Special Force. This is the KSF [ Korean Special Force ]. It was released in 2004 about 3 years ago. This is a pretty old game. The KSF people are amazing, don't even try going there just because glitching is fixed there :D. I think if you see a sniper your like instantly dead or something, idk :D. I don't DARE touch that game, lollerskates.

Acutally i think Gms did already make a glitch patch, but it doesn't cover all the things. For example, you know the red base shang glitch?, where yo go through the wall, now you suicide.

My id on this would be if a char is at XYZ coordinates which isn't a valid co-ordinate they get "auto-banned" for a few days.. But then again sometimes a persons computer has a random lag spike and he goes flying through the air into a wall.. So killing instantaneously would be better :D

I haven't read the whole topic so someone probably said all this already but I'm a professional programmer and it's not all that simple. It's their game engine that decides people can go ahead and walk through walls. Not to mention lag/ping. They just need a professional engine which it would be close to impossible to switch over engines. So the only way this is going to be fixed really is some sort of log when users go in squares that are supposed to be walls or a game engine update.
If you want to keep glitchers out of your game you can go to SFrontHQ's glitchers database. Here you can look up glitchers to make sure you have no glitchers in your game or clan. Of course it's not foolproof as it's impossible to get every glitcher in there but at least it gives you a chance to keep glitchers out.
