View Full Version : "Remove power-ups" option?

What do you guys think? If you can remove powerups, races will be ALMOST 100% fair. Minus the vehicle differences, tho, but hey higher lvls play more, so I guess it all evens out?
Like you can set traffic, maybe you can turn powerups off. Also, it'd be cool if the game was a little more drift-like... and slightly more freestyle? I'm thinking Midnight Club 2/Need4Speed Underground here. Little shortcuts, jumps that go over buildings/obstructions, etc...

If there was a jump that went over a building in this game, you would just get stuck in it XD
But yea, small shortcuts would make things more interesting and based off skill.

less occurence of special powerups will do. coz u will nid boost to catch up to ppls with pro cars.

because of this mentality, people will never actually try to play a map well enough to beat higher levels -- they just rely on getting lucky with a boost.
Thats the main reason why i dislike pvp. Im lvl 22 so im not a pro, im barely out of the noob stage but powerups still annoy me. Im skilled from playing other driving games and the fact how physics work in this game and how it all depends on luck really annoys me. When i was in pvp, i went through 3 gates getting 50% boost in a row. By this time i was dead last, so badly last that if i went twice as fast as the red driftcity powerup, i still wouldnt win. Ive seen people get so lucky. One guy was getting all driftcity powerups and unstoppables the whole time. Its so bad that if i was driving a gigas, i would lose to a v1 car that has all powerups all the time.

in some way power-up makes the ppl at the back a chance to win however, ya... 2nd palce get drift city while being 5 m behind and gg.. game over~

leave them on in the races in team your own mates screw you over so the powerups help keep things fair.
I say yes and no for a couble of reasons...
Yes - Most of the time you can be in first and have somebody from dead last blast by you with a Drift Rush (or whatever the one that uses the Drift city logo) and end up dropping you to dead last...
No - Because I've a few times been that guy from dead last... :P...
I don't think that they should get rid of them altogether, but maybe make them last shorter, like have the hyper boost go for like 7 seconds instead of 15... make them like half as strong...
But, oh well....

They do a pretty good job of evening out the power up and it is not impossible to catch up in this game. So there is really no point in turn the power ups off beside you win some you lose some its racing, not everything can go your way.
