View Full Version : Damage Theory

The hypothesis is that if you're in first place and crash, you'll take more damage then someone who's in 2nd~16th place. If you're in last place and crash, you'll lose almost no hp.
Apathy brought it up in a race yesterday, and i think it's true. I haven't exactly confirmed it though, anyone know?

It is true.
If you are losing, you get very little damage to no damage.

hmm.. now that you mention it.
and i sometimes get away with no durability loss when i hit something when im (temporarily) last. XD
o_O.. unless that has to do with lag/bug.

I didn't notice it until I read this... But yea, I was wondering why I got slammed by traffic and then a wall and received no damage at all...
When I am in first place, if I take like 3-4 hits I need to repair... Last place in a 16 player game, who knows?

I've noticed it too.
If you're first 1 hit takes away like 1/3 of the bar.

concure~
but then again speed also play a row i believe
depending on what u hit if u crash into a car at low speed probably less dmg and if u hit a real car and that car crash into the pole --> no dmg lol but then again i was push into a wall/ tipped by a car and i scratch the wall i remmber getting no dmg or seomthing

I believe this is true. When I was at 1st, I LIGHTLY crashed into the wall and lost almost HALF of my whole bar. When I was in last place, I rammed head on with a truck and lost only about 1/10 of my bar.

Wall hits take away the biggest. That is smashing into wall or wall slide
Then, it is frontal collision (disputed wih the wall slide)
then, slide collision
then random stuff like poles, ramps (god forbid), the gates
ive been thinking this since the second day this became live... i was considering bringing up a thread about this but you beat me to it :lolz: also shaki i'm not sure speed has much to do with taking less damage. lots of times ive been hauling when i wasnt in first and i hit something really hard (200+) and took no damage.

You're dead on the point. It's the "let's be fair" mechanism. In addition of the dmg, the player in 1st place get's 75% "Nothing"s in the course of being in 1st place. Hence, you'll need skill to finsih the race a s first place.

prelud i confirm it, because i was mostly first and take a lot of dmg while the guys behind me seem fine so i try the dmg thing by going behind them and yes the people behind either take very veyr little dmg or none at all

so i guess it's confirmed.
durability has nothing to do with "hp" or howmany hits you can take before crashing.
so that rules out my crash test.

Man bs. Being first gets you more damage? Sheeeeit. But meh, It takes skill to get to first so the increased damage shouldn't be a problem.

Ya in first place i seem to get a lot more dmg. once i was last and i was going over a ramp and i landed headon into a car... and only 2/10 dmg, if it was 1st i think it woukld be 7/10... i keep smashing over those random stuff like poles when i enter a tight corner.. either i hit the pole during the entrance to the corner or at the exit of the corner >.<
