Introduction

A sniper rifle is very affective at close combat or ranged combat. Either way, if used right, a sniper can be very efficient and will do massive amounts of damage. Not to mention, snipers can kill off an enemy without taking any damage at all. This class is quite sneaky and quiet, often residing behind a window, a box or crouching right in front of you. However, if a sniper is seen, then prepare to hit and run unless you can find another position to snipe from without being seen.

Luck, is part of being a sniper since at close range, you will definitely need it.

Using a sniper has its own Advantages and Disadvantages.

This is the current sniper rifle in SFront.

Pro and Con

Pros
-Able to hit from far away
-Often does not take damage
-Very accurate shots
-Usually not spotted
-Can pick off kills from long away
-Good at defensive positions
-High damage shots

Cons
-If spotted, must hit and run
-Not good at very close range
-Needs a place to hide
-Must repair gun often
-Can be approached from behind
-Requires a bit of luck

So there are more Pros than Cons to using a Sniper. Does that mean you are meant to be a Sniper?

Adapting to Snipers

Using a Sniper means that you must know where to snipe and how to snipe efficiently. This means that you don't run out in the middle of the mob wars and drop it like its hot. If you do this, you'll get dropped from a headshot. Now there are many terrain advantages for you to snipe. Here are a few:

Windows

Boxes

Allies

Alleys

Behind Walls

Railing

A rooftop

Closed door with entrance.

These are the main places you can snipe from. If there are no places for you to snipe from, then try to crouch as much as possible.

Playing a Sniper means that you will get sniped back. So how do you play Snipe wars? Well first, you find a box to hide behind. If you cannot find a box then simply press ctrl and hit the <, > keys while you take aim at your opponent. Crouching and then standing up to snipe and crouching back down again can be affective. However, moving away from you box to snipe is very very bad. A common mistake I see is standing up to throw a smoke grenade. Do not do this because your opponent can simply aim into the smoke while you come from it and drop you since your name will appear when he points at you. Throwing a flashbang might work but be sure to follow up by a grenade. If you are able to hit and run, then do it. I suggest equiping a shotgun with you since it does massive damage at close range. Having a handgun might work but the damage is quite weak however.

Trying to Snipe another Sniper that is in a defensive position while you are in the open is also very bad. Unless you can garantee a headshot before he hits you, I suggest trying to find a defensive position before you are dead.

In some games, you are the only one left while your enemies have 2 or more players with them. When this happens, try to hide behind something that guards your back. For example, in Shanghai, the railings near the submarine will cover both left and right of you and will protect your back.

Always aim for a headshot! Try pointing to the neck when you do this. Be sure to move after you shoot if you don't kill since you enemy will most likely come to you unless they are a sniper.

When to Snipe

Knowing when to snipe is also very handing. In the beginning of a game, try to find an alleyway your opponent comes through and pop in a flashbang. After that, you can get alittle bit closer to the alley and punch some holes into your opponent.

There are many mistakes I see people do. Here are a few

-Sniping at the opponents spawn point directly in plain site.

-Sniping off the Submarine in Shanghai.

-Sniping when your opponent is running at your in a zigzag and shooting you.

-Sniping with a mob of people. (This will get you grenaded)

-Sniping in a closed room with one entrance. (Will get you naded)

As long as you don't do this, I garantee you will survive longer in games.

There are many possible situations which you should snipe. However, putting yourself in open site is not a good time to snipe. During the end of the game is when you should snipe since everyone will want to kill you. This is when you find a good protective spot.

The beginning of a game is also a good time to snipe since that's when you will kill off the most people.

Whenever you see a mob of people, shoot into it, even if your teammates are there since your bullets does not effect them.

When you see a grenade land next to you, do not try to pull in one more shot. I have done this once for a headshot, however, I missed and died from one grenade. Don't make that mistake. If you see a smoke grenaded, then move out of the room and point back at the smoke since that is when your opponents will want to come through. When a flashbang arrives near you, look the opposite direction so you don't get flashed and then get ready for the enemies to storm through.

Snipe whenever you are able to and when you see an opponent coming at you from far away and always snipe to pick off enemy snipers.

Sometimes you should try not to snipe and hit them with a handgun. For example, in Shanghai, your opponent is guarding the sub and stands on top of it and he is a pro sniper. This happened to me once so I decided to get into the warehouse, pull out my shotgun (handguns work as well) and sprayed him to death. However, people sneaked up on me and I died. But as you can see, this worked since I picked off a pro sniper, without getting shot.

Attacking

Attacking is very complicated with a sniper. First off, you don't rush in with your partners and smack around with your sniper. There are different approaches to attacking. The four main ones I see are sneaking, camping, open site and dodge sniping.

Allow me to explain each one.

Guess Shot:Guess Shot means that you do not zoom to kill your opponent. You simply aim your barrrel at your opponent and aim where you think the crosshair would be. This is very neat for running out into the open where you only use less than 1-2 seconds to aim with your barrel and hitting your opponent. I have done this many times and it takes skill as well as luck to perform it. Try to use this tactic often.

Sneaking: Sneaking is simply seeking an enemy and then crouching slowly to approach them or by walking. To walk is holding shift. Sneaking should only be done in close range and never far range in case of being spotted. Always try to get behind an obstacle when sneaking.

Camping: Camping is when you hide behind a certain area, like near a spawn point, waiting to kill someone. But be careful when doing this since alot of people put back up troops in their spawn positions to take out the campers. However, I suggest not trying to camp since alot of people like to kill of the campers. If you see a camper, try to grenade him for a quick kill.

Open Site: Open site is when you stand in plain view to snipe people off. This is actually quite effective if you are good at sniping since you have a wider range and can pick people off quite easily before allow them to kill you. However, if you stand in open site, get ready to be sniped.

Dodge Sniping:Dodge Sniping is when you dodge and snipe. Simply move around the map with shift so you can aim better without moving too much. Another form of dodge sniping is hiding behind a crate, popping back up, sniping and popping back down. This can be annoying to your opponents if you time it right. Some people like to jump and snipe however I find this one quite hard to do since you aim is messed up once you jump. Dodge sniping can also be done by simply running into your opponent and pulling a bullet into them.

A few people like to grab a couple of friends/combatants and pulling them along while they snipe people off. If you like to do this, I suggest having two combatants with you just in case you get double teammed. If you friends don't mind, tell them to scout ahead. While they scout, you scan the horizon and pick off the people who go off after them.

Attacking means that you need to dodge snipe as much as possible and staying back to camp is also a nice option to do.

There are different thing you can do in each scenario with a sniper.

Hospital
Hit the people who are near the windows down to the ground. When doing this, try to stand behind the ambulance for protection.

Shanghai
Usually, there are a few people who stand by windows. Try to take out those players. Usually those players are snipers so be careful.

You can also try sniping the people on the Dock or Near the Submarine since there are usually people guarding it. The opening through the dumpster is also a place where people go in and out. Try to snipe them before they reach you.

Missile
During this game, there are people who like to stand near the windows, or under the beam you see when you crawl up the ladder and through the hole. Try to take them out.

You can also crawl onto the beam near the roof and hit people from there. However, I don't suggest this since it is easy to get shot off the roof.

Squeezing your barrel through the crack against the truck and the wall is also very neat for taking out any snipers.

Sniping near the window ledge of the brown warehouse where you set yoru bomb is also a nice idea. It is often quite hard for enemy snipers to take you out when you are there.

Desert Camp

Sniping next to the box near the open grounds next to the ladder is a good place to snipe.

Going up the ladder and onto the rooftop where the enemies conjoin is also a very effective place.

Aiming your barrel through the door of the underground passage can help you take out a few people.

Lastly, the passageway to the right with all the balance beams can be a nice place to drop some people to the ground. I can usually take out around three people before they realize me and come racing to me. However when they race towards you, pull out you handgun, hide behind one of the two boxes and shoot them. If you have a shotgun, wait for them to near you and then blast them in the face when they are near the corner of the wall.

Defending

Defending is quite different from attacking. Crouching is always necessary in defending so you don't get shot. Try to hide behind the many boxes, garbage, cars, trucks, windows, etc. in the game. I like to go behind one of my allies and make them run at the enemy. While the enemy shoots my ally, I shoot him down. The downside to that is one of you loses a little health if not both of you.

Positions are also very important in defending. Standing/Guarding an important alleyway is quite effective like the ones in desert map. Guarding the stairs or an entrance is essential to winning.

There are many positions to guard on a map.

Shanghai

Standing on the Dock to snipe

On the Submarine

Windows

Behind box on dock

Warehouse near dock

Hospital

Under tunnel near windows

Rooftop with ladder near Hospital

Hospital Windows

Rows of Chairs

Behind Boxes

Stairways

Missile

Entance above the ladder

Windows in brown warehouse

Huge beam on ceiling

Behind bomb counter

Underground passage

In slit through truck and wall

Behind barrels

Boxes

Desert Camp

Behind double deck boxes near bomb

Rooftop with two ladders

Shelter all the way to the left

Behind balance beams

Underground passage

So now that you know these places, find them on the map and snipe from there.

Tips

Duckwalking

Duckwalking is when you crouch walk. That means constantly press the CTRL key. This is to avoid being headshotted and screws up you opponents aim when they try to hit you.

Circle Knifing

This is when you run in a circle slashing you ropponent with knife. I think each knife does around 20 damage.

Jumping

Jumping around while reloading is a nice technique to use. However, be sure to jump in a circle when doing this and not jumping forwards or backwards.

Gun Switching

This is when you snipe someone that is next to you but doesn't kill. Then you take out a shotgun/handgun and blast them to death. You should do this when you have one bullet left on your rifle.

You don't need to repair your sniper constantly. It doens't lose accuracy, once it gets fully broken then it loses accuracy.

I already tested this also so don't call me stupid.
