Sword or spear? Which one of them is more efficient ?

I can`t deside on which weapon to choise... i know that a sword is fast but weak and a spear is
stronger but slower.
But what is the difference in speed and damage? like how many times each weapon attacks in a
given time and what is the totall damage with each at that given time?

For example : number of hits in 10 seconds | ammount of damage in 10 seconds for each weapon .

Which one of them is more efficient and what is better in the long run?

I would go with sword since it aready has a fast rate of attack. The only thing thats left to do is to make sure ur str is high enough so that u do ALOT of dmg.

Well I think all weapons are equal its just which weapon do you want to use...

ALTHOUGH... on a new server theres alot of things to think about. For examlple you start out with a sword and in one of the starting quest you get to make a bronze sword with out getting the materials your self (and without having the proper sword manufacturing level). All other weapon types to get 2nd weapon has to get the proper manufacturing level and has to get the materials. And.. also you get first spear from quest at like level 12-14. And after that quest you get quest to get a bamboo cane. I dont think you get a reward of gun / axe / bow in any quest for a long time.

Short version is.. Sword = advantage on new server

If you have high strength with spear and with sword that means spear would hit harder. But sword faster so pretty equal anyway...

Hmmm interesting idea Tuvok-kun ... but what about the weapon skill? I`ll have a higher sword
skill then from gaining sword skill exp, and then it`ll be better to stick with the sword ,now won`t it?

It appears you do not have a choice. As a matter of logical efficiency you should take the weapon with the greatest current advantage. During the start of the game it will be more efficient to take the sword, the only question remaining after this conclusion is "Is changing weapons later on, arduous it may be, worth the effort?" That's circumstantial and the answer changes depending on how much work you're willing to put into it- however, at level "10" or even level "30"- 30 not even being a third of the maximum, I can't imagine it would be that hard to reskill your weapon- especially if you are aiming to take advantage of it when you're done; this advantage will begin to show more and more the more you skill the weapon up.

I have no idea how Goonzu works mechanically, so just bear with me as I make this up. That was pretty much conjecture.


Let's say you got a skill that gives you +X damage with axes. X is 1/10 of your (Axe)weapon skill.
Starting from 1, you don't get much of a bonus. As you level it up though, at 20 you get more of a bonus, at 30 you get more of a bonus, at 40 you get more of a bonus, etc. That means it actually becomes easier to skill up the weapon if you've already put points into having an advantage with it. If the bonus at the beginning isn't enough for the right level monsters you scale down a bit until it is. Soon enough you won't even need to worry because levels 10 and 30 can't be that hard to catch up with considering how low they are from the maximum.

Do you like shields?
If you like shields, take the sword. You obviously can't use a shield with a 2handed weapon like a spear (although the traditional javelin is a ranged spear weapon meant for one hand).

I don`t like shields much (if it was possible ,i wouldv`e use 2handed swords). But i though we
don`t have the option to use shields in goonzu, neither a two handed
version of the normal one handed weapon

sword does less damage then spear but swords is faster then spear, its ur pick , but one thing spear looks cooler on mounts :)

sword if u got a good accuracy, u rarely eat hp pot. Spear stable damage and speed, but the book price is more expensive.
