After playing global, I realized that half the time, you don't necessarily get the obvious advantage from attacking from a distance with a ranged weapon because monsters still hit you even though they're several spaces away (The melee monsters). I'm guessing this is in-game lag or something? Btw, guns are kind of expensive for beginners, especially when needing to buy ammo all the time.

well you r kinda wrong =S.ranged weapons are the best at Pvp and killing high lvl monsters cuz their magic(Called ice trap) make the opponent freeze so u can hit a lot of times the enemy while he cant move(that would be different if the melee user uses a gold soup that makes u "unfreeze").
btw guns arent that expensive the first gun(calles rifle) to be done requires 5 oaks and 3 iron ores,you can get those in less than 5 mins xD.and about the bullet "price" ,u dont have to buy bullets,you can mke them:
200 Units=1 coal+1copper+1sulfur...again u get this in 2mins...=P

Ice trap is the main point of range weps. Yup it's very useful when pvp and fighting bosses. And most of the monsters have range attack.

Nope,Ice trap isnt useful to fight monsters...u will have 1% of success to freeze a boss with the ice trap.
ice trap is used for hit and run attacks(mostly on pvp).

1% ? nah i dont think so. I saw 2 guys ( 1 gun, 1 cane ) fighting boss, they used ice trap and success most of the time.

well the percentage is 1% its a fact ,im not inventing.
you can try it by yourself:
shoot 100 times a trap shot on a boss and see if it works ;).
