Crash After Results Screen [Active]

Notes: Test team has confirmed that the enter key will cause the user to crash during this screen when left in chat mode.

What I got was the "Error" sound and a black screen. I assume that the Alt+Tab crash error notice was behind the black screen, but it's unable to view.
Then today, right after I go back to the game lobby, SF closes and displays the Alt tab error, only without the black screen. This might help.

Whenever I get the alt+tab crash after a game, I'm usually typing something when it goes to the splash screen before the lobby, so it might have something to do with typing anything in general when it goes to the splash screen.

I have experienced the same issue as Suinodrak. I will have been typing something in the chat but the screen will load to the lobby and crash before it gets there. Eventhough I was only typing letters, it will give me the Alt+Tab error message.

Uhm, err...I don't push F3, but I still crash 5-10 seconds after the results screen.

Neither is there an Alt+Tab screen thing pop up. I just seem to have a SUPER HUGE lag spell that makes the game crash. I am currently playing SF on T1 cable, and lag is not normal at all.

I like this game but the problems it's been giving me is making me stay away from this game.

Either the game doesn't load or the game simply crashes 2 out of 3 times I play.
Can't alt+tab,can't opentask manager nor anything to close it.

And it seriously crashes my whole system and I have to reboot causing errors.

one of the possible causes is if you have the message bar open, but you have nothing typed.

like, you push the enter button but don't type anything after a match.


if you do that, it might be one of the causes for it closing. that's what happens to me a lot. i've tested it and it closes fairly consistently.... (the bad side is i have to keep restarting after every try because then i get gameguard error 114 when i try and get back on...)

I hate the fact it crashes when you are typing at the results screen and haev the bar open when it goes to the room. I will normally try to thank the other players for a good game but the game always goes to the room before I can finish and the game crashes due to me typing.

It can be annoying, but you can always type it in when you get back to the lobby. Hey it may even dissuade some people from typing out their scores at the end of the round, which is a bit of an annoyance to me.

dude u guys i no another reason why it happens. once the game ends, don't type anything. i've experimented and if i dont' type anything nothing happens

also make sure that the type bar thing isn't open

I've had something like this happen to me before, and I've tested it many times; If one game is to COMPLETELY finish, as in x out of x matches are done and over with, and you gather up your SP and head to the lobby, if you have your chat open, as in you're trying to talk, the game will close and the pop-up will appear that says you have pressed Alt+Tab, try it for yourself. Has happened many a time before, and I've never had a time when it hasn't happened.

ok heres the thing guys. just dont type anythig at the end of the round within 3 seconds of the results screen closing. if you MUST post your score do it i guess, i actually dont and also in scrims if i'm kinda slow that day i say "gg" AFTER we get back to the room view.

the game closes right after a clan battle, does not happen in team battle, this started to happen right after I downloaded the update. The Multiple Instances window pops up when the game crashes after a clan battle.

its not the f3 button.. its simply having the chat bar open when the waiting room loads at the end of a map... if u have the chat box closed it will not crash.

Sking.. its noting of all your saying man, the problem is the factions emblema , me and other 5 people from my clan don't have it , when we are done with a CB our game crashes while the other members who have the faction emblema thing don't.

The game will crash after the result screen if you're chat bar is open when the screen goes black, best bet to avoid this is to simply not type after the games over, don't worry no one really cares what anyone else score was. If they do, they can ask in the lobby.

I've confirmed that typing something will also cause it to crash. It's not the typing itself, but if you try to cram it in and press enter for a certain duration while the screen is black, it crashes.

I tested this several times (at the expense of a little honor level).

a theory i have tht happens to many ppl is that the chat box is open when the game takes you back to game lobby this will often cause your game to crash/close

OK, I think I know the problem. This happened to me a lot of times, so when its on the Results screen, and you're still typing or just pressed ENTER when it goes back to th waiting room, it will crash and say 'You have pressed the ALT+TAB keys' . See if this helps anyone, because it sure helped me.

It always happens to me if I'm typing something while it changes from result screen to the ready up screen. If I'm not typing anything in while it switches, I don't crash.

I am having s somewhat simular issue, But mine is before the game starts during the stage when everyone loads. when everone reaches 100% I freeze up and hear the sounds of the game. I don't hear any sounds after that, just what is said or done about 5 seconds after it freezes.

both issues have a solution,
for the thread's issue its simple, get sure you are not in the type mode when the end/record screen is bout to expire and the game re-starts, if you want to type your record just do it fast.

For the clan battle issue, you need to buy the clan badge to avoid "auto kicked"/log out in the end of a clan battle!

the reason for this is because before the score at the end of game changes to the lobby screen, u guys probably have the chat bar out ( by pressing enter ) thats why, when score table disappears, u crash. So dont type something long after the score table.

okok the issue with this is like you know how when u press enter to chat it opens ur chat bar ? ok thats what causing it its when u have the chat open hen it exists the game to go into the lobby for another match

This used to happen to me. It used to say Error or You have press Alt-Tab keys.
Im guessing you should have alot of programs on during game play. Probably 2 to 4 is good. I only use Xfire, and Msn while playing SF now.

It was noted already, but just to say it again. If the chat window is open when the game ends and it goes to enter back into the game room, you'll be disconnected. So for now The best thing to do is not to type anything until after the results are done and your back in the game room.

i have also noticed that if i ever have MSN messenger open and an alert window pops up the games has the alt+tab crash... by signing out of msn and completly exiting the program this solves the problem... and i would assume that it would work with any other form of intant messaging

i got the same problem but, i got 2 other reasons: 1) is that i am playing and for no reason sf crashes (shuts down)
and 2) is that when ppl on opps team leave and our team is left but no enemy, my sf crashes on me.

I had that bug several times , but i think i found an anti-alt-tab , sometimes it automaticly quit the games , but sometimes you have time to repair your gun , am i right? =O

Whatever.... My trick , is when i get in the game room , just before i crash , i press ready , and it miracolously stop , it worked 2 time already for me =O ...

I got this problem is really BS anyway, yeah just dont keep chat open blah blah blah but i found if it doesnt happen after one game keep playing becuase if you close and reopen it will happen again which leads me to think somthing didnt load right during installation. This also explains why it would happen on 2 diferent comps becuase you used the same installer which had things missing or didnt install it right. Iv'e tried reinstallign it WITH THE SAME INSTALLER so if anyone wants to try with a different one.., Also the GM's should look into this alot of peopel have this problem and they ain't posting anything about it. So please look into this!! BTW this problem doesn't shut my comp down and closes the game onyl so it take liek 30 seconds to get back into the game. Also if oyur screen goes black or just freezes and you see no message click on the sceen in the midle and press enter the Esc becuase that will press ok to the error message and it will shut the game down so you dont have to restart comp :D. +rep if this helps..
