Yes, you can always use a horse, but not during the mining I think.
Horse training meens feeding it, every several minutes your horse get hungry, then you can give him food, wich will train it.
The best ting tho do is buy all kinds of food, like 500 of them each, and then just go AFK all night long, or just play using this horse;
How it work in global.goonzu:
I buy a horse, or get one from Medal, then Iwant it trained, so I GIVE it to a horse trainer, and pays some money. Then I wait, a day or 2 and he gives the hrose back. So all the horse trainer need to do is AFK
