If I were to make some sort of tank, I know of course that I will need lots of Vit, but what type of class should I be? Can swordman use shields or anything? Thanks, was just wondering what class makes the ebst tank (meatshield)

Ehm, doesnt matter. Any weapon would do but for Ranged, since they dont need a lot of STR.
so go a Melee, and then think what;s best for you.
You will need ALOT of VIT, and enough STR for the best Armor, then raise AGI if you also want to be able to hit (without missing alot).

if you pick axe, you dont need as much AGI as when you pick sword, so you can raise your VIT more.

also give your summon all stats in VIT so it can tank aswell =)

As long as you can get hit 2-3 times by the enemy, you can tank it. Good Armor is a must (95-100 Str for the best)

I would suggest sword, because it will do the best DPS of all the melee weapons, since your prolly going to be tanking bosses, as they are the only thing you cant kill in a few hits, you want to lessen the damage you take by killing it faster.

Of course you wouldnt be any differnt than any other hunter really, because all "classes" use the same armors and even if you have 400 more hp than another player, it justs give you a little more wiggle room to push the HP potion button :confused2:

More VIT doesnt reduce the damage you take, nor does it increase how much you heal, all it does is stop you from getting 1 shotted and give you more time to pop a potion.

Edit: Dont forget about enchanting your armor as well, as it will reduce the ammount of damage you receive by a little bit.

I wish I knew more about it. I guess it's not like WoW, where I'll be tanking a boss for many people. Is this more of a solo game? even at high levels? If theres really no need for a specific tank, then maybe ill go mage, which I kinda wanted to do anyway.

Caner, AKA mage is very expensive. Especially if you start out with nothing and if you don't know too much about the game I really recommend not going caner first since they're expensive. The good side about caners is that their hits are high =D

Well dude I hate to tell you this but I dont think anyone cares. Because we're here waiting for luminary and not global. The good thing about luminary is everyone starts out at the same lvl. It would be inconsiderate of you to shoot down our excitement.

I believe I have heard that spear and sword users make the best tanks due to the relatively low str requirements for their weapons. That being said, axe users would do fine as tanks as well. Tanking is all about sacrificing as much of other stats as possible for vit.

If you want to be a tank really badly, and will constantly be upgrading VIT, then you are going to be very poor at leveling on your own early in the game when partuing is almost pointless. That being said, it is only the lower levels that you will have problems with, and you will be rewarded later on as a must have for a party.

I would go with dps, because I like doing a lot of damage, however, if you have your heart set on becoming a tank, good luck with it, as you will be highly prized later.
