This is more or less a guide on protecting your computer; it's more of an
information type of guide. Do not get all worried because of the above bold

Infections :
Most of the people don't know what attacks there computers.
Below I will write definitions to certain infections.

Virus : The term computer virus is used for a program which has infected some executable software and which causes that software, when run, to spread the virus to other executable software. Viruses may also contain a payload which performs other actions, often malicious.

Worms : A worm, is a program which actively transmits itself over a network to infect other computers. It too may carry a payload.

Spyware :Spyware is computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user's interaction with the computer, without the user's informed consent.

Keylogging :Keystroke logging (often called keylogging) is a method of capturing and recording user keystrokes. Keylogging can be useful to determine sources of errors in computer systems, to study how users interact with systems, and is sometimes used to measure employee productivity on certain clerical tasks. Such systems are also highly useful for law enforcement and espionage—for instance, providing a means to obtain passwords or encryption keys and thus bypassing other security measures. Keyloggers are widely available on the Internet.

Trojan :In the context of computing and software, a Trojan horse, or simply trojan, is a piece of software which appears to perform a certain action but in fact performs another such as virus.

Cookies :HTTP cookies, sometimes known as web cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server. Adware :Adware or advertising-supported software is any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertising material to a computer after the software is installed on it or while the application is being used. Some types of adware are also spyware and can be classified as privacy-invasive software.

Just use AVAST! ppl it is very good and effective. I have been using it for 4 yrs never had prob with anything. I also will download others from time to time to make sure it is still working right and never had a prob with that either. All u get with paid anti-virus programs extra customer support that's it. If u you want that then you pay for AVAST! if u wish but u don't have to. And don't whine to me about how avast suck cuz u want to promote some really expensive program i don't care.
